Star Citizen Announcement Panel from GDC 2012

Having played lots of pc games for many many years (inc freelancer to eve) I have been waiting for a new game to immerse my self with. This really feels like its going to be the one and with Rick behind the wheel, I expect a level and depth of detail second to non. I am so excited by this game. I loved the ?dog fights? in freelancer and whilst eve in its early days did give me butterflies in my tummy when PVPing, it never quite hit that spot that freelancer did. I cant wait for this. :)

This guy during question time trying to draw parrallels to eve or Kotor..... yeah no i don't think you get Elite-like games or space sims. That's obviously NOT what this is gonna be like. This is a open space sim. Anybody expecting this to play like a regular mmorpg, or even eve, will be sorely disappointed. And thank god because that's not the point. This reminds me of a review of i think it was Darkstar One, where the reviewer kept mentioning this was like GTA in space and that it was an "interesting concept"..... I mean, god... i guess that's how underground the genre has went? You now have people reviewing games PROFESSIONALLY who don't KNOW what Elite is. That's just sad.

@Carton_of_milk i've played both eve and freelancer, they are both different but they do share the whole going around selling items for more in certain galaxies in both eve and freelancer, this game will definitely be closer to freelancer just saying that eve market.

if done right, and i trust Chris can make it right, this will probably be my favorite online game of all time. Perhaps even my favorite game of all time online or off..... but you know, let's see how it turns out first. but just saying...
