It would have to have good A.I.

Civ 5 does not, and it still sucks with this expansion.

What turn based strategy game, that is anywhere near as complex as Civ, has even decent AI? Cheats are the only way they make the AI look decent, in pretty much any TBS game. I still say it beats Shogun 2s "Let's have long time allies invade you with whole armies they made in one turn".

Good AI, but if memory serves nowhere near as complex of a game. Though it has been a few years I must admit. Any others?

Actually Gav Civ 2 is MORE complex than Civ5.

Instead of managing citires you are managing star systems, planets, starbases etc

Plus it has extensive unit customisation.

The AI in Civ5 is just plain DUMB. Even a simple point advantage AI routine to determine attack probability

the AI fails to do quite often. Even in other Civ games going back to Civ1 you knew the AI would attack you unit

if it had overwhelming percent win advantage, becuase it is what you would do yourself. Quite often the AI will not attack,

or move a range unit to within melee range and get slaughtered. The AI in Civ5 has NEVER launched a amphib attack on me

in a continents game. In Civ4 it did, in force, and behind my front line - and I was impressed.

Civ5 in like Windows Vista - lots of hype - failed to deliver.

not sure about that, because ive seen tons of amphibious/overseas attacks in civ 5 so far. maybe it depends on the difficulty you play on, but literally every game i play, i see overseas invasions.
