So is it just me or are all known parents in the Soul Calibur universe like extremely bad?
I don't know what Xianghua did to Leixia but she is such an egomaniac, and oblivious beyond belief, also she is just as annoying than Xianghua if not more.
Sophitia's kids... I know she probably left them early but Patroklos, well, before his 'transformation' as an adult (or very nearly an adult) he was kinda crazy, working for a crazy guy, killing people. And Pyrrha, well, she has serious self-esteem problems, I feel sorry for her.
Cervantes was a maniac, and his daughter, Ivy... turned into some sort of crazy evil dominatrix.
And Astaroth's dad... well, need I say more?
What do you think of this phenomenon?

LX isn't an ego trip, she's just spoilt because she's always pampered in the palace never seen the outside world.
Pat hates "malfested" because they killed his mother...
Ivy wants to kill Cervy before because he is the Edge holder of her time, also being salty how he abandoned her since birth and indirectly killed her adoptive parents
Astaroth is a golem, what parents??

Patroklos was never taught to distinguish reality from monsters!

The Astaroth that you are talking about is no more. The version in SC5 was made from Ashlotte using part of the latters corpse.
