Now, what you guys have been saying is correct sure but bronze and orange can always be found on korrban if you are high level, silver you can get from the trafer geeda on nar shadda non random, viridian can be found in the palace, cyan, blue, green, red, and yellow are also not rare, and neither is purple. i found also of those in my first game too like skitt at home the quaon or whatever can be found by the lady in bar on Odorain not Dantooine, the only rare cyrastle there are are: Ultima Pearl, Kaiburr, Hurrokane, Ankarres crystal, Upari, Barob Ore Ignot, and i am pretty sure i might be leaving 1 out but that is that

When your talking to atton on the ebon hawk he will ask about your light saber and when he ask if you had a red light saber you tell him that it was unique and you tell him that it was silver like the waters of a thousand fountains on courasant . then when your at the telos polar cap talking to atris you will see your old light saber which is silver colored and in some point of the game you will find a silver colored crystal for your light saber

You don't have to select silver at the beginning to find one. As with everything except plot items, crystals are randomly generated. My personal favorite is dual wielding some combination of purple, cyan, or silver, depending on find.
I've found a bronze crystal maybe once or twice in I'm not sure how many plays. -
The rarest color is probably Bronze and rarest crystal upgrade is either Ankarres Sapphire or Hurrikaine. Silver is actully the one color found in a set location.
-
Darkness is right i've only found bronze a couple of times too
-
Freedon Nad's Lightsaber has a bronze crystal in it, though you cannot take it out.
-
Well at some point in the game i do not remember where at but you need a very high secureity level but then you will find it in a crate but it is a silver crystal and i love them or you have rare chance in the game to find a orange one so have fun i love them both

bronze and cyan seem rare, at least for me during the half dozen times I've played through to the end. I always find a orange crystal in a particular footlocker in the student quarters or dorm part of the sith academy, anyone else?
the rarest and best crystals are the solari crystal, the ankerres sapphire, the kaiburr crystal, and the hurrikaine crystal. the upari and barab ore ingot crystals are good as well, but they can be found at a set location if you fail to find them randomly.
In my experinece, the tomb of freedon nadd is a good place to try to get awesome crystals, you can often get a crystal from one of the sith lords outside the tomb, as well as the two ancient terminals, and the sith lord doing the ritual , he seems to always leave a double bladed lightsaber, sith gaunlets and usually a random crystal. have a few save files before going into the mandalorian camp to get things started, If you don't find any good crystals you want just reload and try again. -
There's a color choice in the discussion with Atton that is rarer than silver. It is called Viridian(Unique Green).
I have only played through the game a single time, Silver, and Cyan both are colors I have seen regularly. Bronze is another. I also received the Ankarres Crystal on The Ravager, along with Hurrikaine.
Viridian is the only crystal I have not seen, except as a choice at the first of the game. -
The rarest crystals are based on what you do. So Algolagnia has only seen virdian once but, thats only what I regularly see. I have never seen bronze and Algolagnia has seen a lot of these. The thing is it is how good it is.

The rarest crystal is YOURNAME, you only get one ever unless you cheat. lol
Seriously though, I tend to find that the "shiny" ones which say they are rare in their descriptions show up the least often (viridian, silver and cyan). But it's all random really, so you can keep reloading if you care about specific ones.
I like viridian and silver best and either dual wield those 2 colours, or pick one. I've occasionally chosen cyan on it's own too. -
the rareest color for your lightsaber is either sliver (easily obtained apparently) or cyan. never seen a cyan crystal? i have. but i have never used it in a saber before :( i have to assume its the rarest since you cant choose cyan when you talk to atton on the ebon hawk.
and the "YOURNAME" crystal is obtained automactically so its not really rare. rare is when it takes some work to get. -
Viridian has a set location in the museum in onderon palace from the second time you go there.

The color crystal really only matters for personal reason but if you would like to know all the times I have played through this game on my xbox and now xbox 360 I have always been able to find one orange (which I always sell bc I don't like that collor), one silver (which I give to Handmaiden), one bronze (which I give usually to Atton), one cyan (which I just let rot in my inventory), and two viridian (which I use both for myslef). But feel free to use any color you like the only real crystals that matter most are the upgrade crystals, which you should take into account on what you are: example pure caster is my personal favorite.
-
I would say the rarest color is bronze I've only gotten it once and for support crystal would be kaiburr which I've only had once and hurrikane which I've never had before.
-
I have yet to get Bronze color crystal. I did however get a Cyan twice and the Viridian crystal is in a fixed spot in the museum on Onderon when the palace is under attack. You can loot the museum to get 4 items (A robe, the Viridian Crystal and 2 other things). If you didn't loot the museum the Queen or whoever that is gives you an item from the museum as a reward.

Well as the color crystals go i have gotten red, orange, bronze, silver, blue, veridian, violet, yellow, green. But no cyan. As the other crystals go my friend told me of the strongest one you can get in the game(besides maybe your crystal) it is a crystal on dantooine and you have to be dark side. At the plaza there is this lady that tells you she'll give to you in exchange of a starport visa.

the rarest color is bronze the others dont know what their talking about I am the best ranked person at this game and thats not me bragging its fact the rarest upgrade crystal is ultima pearl
-
Actually I found all of the color crystals mentioned here in my first play through the game.
I dont know what I did to get them all the first time but I guess it was just dumb luck.
