- May 30, 2012 2:36 am GMTA quick word first: Please leave if you're just going to talk bad about SFxTK. This topic is solely for discussion on the topic at hand.
So, I've been thinking about this for a while, and while right now might not be the best time for a tourney (what with the Rolento glitch in Ver. 1.04), I'm going to get the discussion going now while we're still young!
I am more than willing to organize it, and I may elicit the help of others for some side stuff (which I'll go into if the time comes), but for now, here are the proposed rules:
- Double Elimination, best 2 of 3 sets
- Best 3 of 5 set(s) in Grand Finals
- Both Solo Play and Pair Play allowed (you can have a partner, but you don't have to)
- All gems allowed
- Anyone using the Rolento freeze glitch will be DQ'd
Please discuss the following subjects:
[Timeframe]
Mid-week or weekend? Afternoon or evening? In a week or a month? Should we wait until the Rolento glitch is patched out sometime in mid-June? I can tell you guys right now that the weekend of June 8-10 will not work out for me due to a prior commitment.
[Rule Set]
You guys cool with all gems being fair game? Do you think Rolento should be banned outright (if we play w/Version 1.04)? Do you like the mixing of one-man and two-man teams in a single tourney, or should it just be 1v1 or 2v2?
[Other Stuff]
Anything I missed? General suggestions? Do you have any ideas that could add to the tournament in some way?
AAAAAAAAAND Post away!

XBL GT: ReptileAssassin. Fighting game specialist - May 30, 2012 6:58 am GMTDo not allow any assist gems. At all.
Leave Rolento in, but if the glitch happens give the Rolento player a match loss.

Auto block, auto grab makes game longer and not fun time out happen more frequently
Do you think Rolento should be banned outright (if we play w/Version 1.04)?
no just avoid the glitch if it happen restart if it happens again he's out.
Do you like the mixing of one-man and two-man teams in a single tourney, or should it just be 1v1 or 2v2?
less people would participate. but I don't depends how many are entering
[Other Stuff]
we could do if doing it in one day but if you wanna make last a week we could just do 3 days find your partner and state the time when their available if not present that time their out.

ssbb code:3265-6022-6260 Tatsunoko vs Capcom: 4941-6847-0680 gamertag:IIMEJORMANII - May 31, 2012 2:44 am GMTFirstly, what I need now more than anything else is what time would be most convenient for you guys to hold the tournament. I'd like to have as many participants as possible, so please let me know!
Some things I should clear up:
- When I said to "discuss the timeframe of the tourney", I really meant "discuss what day would be best for everyone to hold the tourney". I expect to have this tournament done in one day, unless I find a good reason to drag it out, in which case I wouldn't make it last anymore than two days.
- When I said "DQ any Rolento player if they trigger the glitch", I mean "immediately eject them from the tournament". I want this to run as smoothly as possible, and to have people restart their matches from scratch because the game froze would hold up the brackets and waste time.
The impression I'm getting from people is that I should definitely ban Auto Block, Auto Throw Tech, and any similar Assist Gems. You have been heard and I will write up a list of banned gems and post them ASAP. I do not think all Assist Gems need to be banned, however; most of them are not nearly as cheap as the Auto gems and have legitimate strategic uses.
For simplicity's site, I'll just make the tournament 1v1, and if anybody wishes to have a teammate, they can PM me, since I'd still really like to keep the option open.
As for prizes, I can't really help out in that department at the moment, but if there were to be a prize, it'd probably be along the lines of Microsoft Points (something digital) and it would only be for first place. If anyone wants to donate a prize, tell me and I'll make sure to let everyone know.

"Calculus!" --Dive, Divekick - Jun 1, 2012 5:36 pm GMTI'm all for this I've been waiting to be in a tournament my question is what will winner get or will you have like prizes for 1st and 2nd player??
- Jun 1, 2012 9:10 pm GMTAs I said, I can't offer a prize. If someone else wants to, they can contact me.
Well, I'll set up a date soon and post a proper sign-up topic.

"Calculus!" --Dive, Divekick - Jun 2, 2012 7:45 am GMTBan all assist gems except expert inputs.

http://gamercards.playfire.com/_/xbox/403153/0/default.png - Jun 2, 2012 8:20 am GMTI'm totally down. I've actually been thinking of posting something like this for us 360 players.
I think we should just make it less complicated on ourselves, not argue about it and just agree to ban ALL assist gems. You shouldn't be doing anything tournament-related if you need input gems, even if it's not a serious tournament. Health gems aren't that bad IMO but if we ban some assist gmes, it's only fair to ban them all.
People should only be DQ'd for using Rolento if it's very apparent they are trying to glitch. Other than that they should get the benefit of the doubt. If it happens more than once then just for the sake of time, they are done. I almost want to say no Rolento just for the sake of avoiding any situations where people get gypped a win by the glitch...but Rolento users shouldn't get punished for Capcom's post-release, post-patch mistakes either.
