stuck in soul cairn??

Hi, i just completed the Soul Essence Gem mission in Soul Cairn. After doing some exploring afterwards, i cant for the life of me find my way back out of Soul Cairn to Castle Volkihar. im sure its something simple im missing since i cant find a topic of anyone else having this problem. any help would be appreciated thanks!

switch your active quest to Return Home and a waypoint should pop up
