1 - Boy double standards.
2 - there's some people in the world and on this message board that need to be talked down to just because they need to be knocked off their pedestal.
1 - couldn't agree more, from personal experience
2 - uh....... now that's just douchey & not helping my opinion of you

The first thing you said was completely unwarranted sarcasm and not the cute kind.. This just screams "The TC is an idiot"
Oh.... it was indeed sarcastic, no argument here.... but, since when is sarcasm flaming??? that's not even close to right.... based on the follow up to my inquiry, i still question the post mods, but starting to agree with the "postee" modding.
sarcasm=/=flaming....... lol, just like not agreeing with someone =/= flaming
well, unless you disagree with a mod...
The bolded part I'll apologize for. Finals week at school and it's taking a toll on me. (social rant here so if you don't want to read just skip down a bit)But you do have to agree that there are some people that are like that. Hell I'm like that every so often and I do get knocked off my pedestal. Holier than thou attitudes are just a pet peeve of mine and whenever someone shows that off it just irks me to the point I have to respond. (end rant)
In regards to the double standards: most of my life has been pretty much double standards. It feels good to break away from them every so often and realize that double standards are wrong.

What kind is it?

wait til you get a -10 karma slap & a 7+ day suspension for beating a mod on these boards at a game they *think* they have skill at........ i wish i could say ^ that has only happened to me once but, that just wouldn't be true.
i forget how long the actual suspension was, but lol........ seriously....

Lol dude that sucks. I've gotten -20 karma (overall not all together ) but no suspension ever. When I left this topic and came back online, I had like... 6 or 7+ notifications and only one was karma reduction. Gotta love double standards eh?

- Dec 5, 2011 6:09 pm GMTFor gods sake, I come in here after seeing a 20 post boost, hoping to get more questions or corrections, and all I see is jubjub, Tiruas, and chester all arguing over NOTHING. If you guys want to argue over mod power or whatever, go make another topic so that people can at least get their questions answered here, which was the point of the FAQ. In fact jubjub, for all your complaints about this being in the wrong section, you yourself are defeating the entire point of an FAQ by not contributing to it in any way, and instead derailing it.
If you want to complain about something irrelevant to the game, please just go do it somewhere else.

Here I'll contribute: put it in the FAQ section. it's a message board. We're going to talk about random stuff. Of course you didn't read everything and just assume that we're arguing but whatever suits you.
Remember people: public forum is not a public forum anymore. It is now the FAQ section and we have no where else to talk.

Contribute to the topic, which is the FAQ itself. Not try and thrust your belief on where it should reside. It was stickied, so it was considered a valid message board FAQ. Get over it, and actually contribute game-related questions rather than continue this line of reasoning just because you disagree with it being stickied.
If you have any game-related suggestions or questions then I'd be happy to add it to the topic, because it's relevant. Talking about mod behavior or your personal grudge against board-based FAQs is irrelevant.

Kenshin's the Beauty, Kaoru's the Beast? - Mister_Feeny
Would that make Shishioh the candle guy? - Gettles - Dec 5, 2011 6:41 pm GMTThings that should be stickied (obviously my own opinion but logical none the less):
1. Patch information when it's posted that explains what the patch has changed.
2. Common problems that have a fix to them (lets say the backwards flying dragon. Someone knew a fix and posted how to fix it and it worked)
3. DLC information when it becomes available (this is kind of a personal favorite of mine when someone posts it but it ends up getting pushed down due to stuff that's presumably better than said information)
Things that shouldn't be stickied and should be placed in the appropriate sections:
1. Questions. (long shot but you can't stop all the questions from being posted on the boards. Or people bothering to do their research)
2. FAQs (There's a reason why it's there. As a matter of fact I could probably take all the information you have here and make my own FAQ and put it up there. You didn't put a disclaimer or anything of the like so I guess that's all on you.)
3. Stupid crap. (obviously won't get stickied but can't forget that)
Whoa! A smart FAQ? Right here?! No way!
And by the way posting something like this "Contribute to the topic, which is the FAQ itself. Not try and thrust your belief on where it should reside. It was stickied, so it was considered a valid message board FAQ. Get over it, and actually contribute game-related questions rather than continue this line of reasoning just because you disagree with it being stickied.

Shows that you obviously didn't think this through when you posted it and just wanted to bump your post number (not sure why you'd want to do that though. You do know this is board is on a time based, one post per day karma system?)
Gonna go make your FAQ and put it in the right section now!
PS: I am surprised that you really didn't read. I didn't bring up the mod behavior or even talk bad about the mods did I? No? Go back and re-read. It'll help.

Things that shouldn't be stickied and should be placed in the appropriate sections:
See, you don't make the rules on the board. As such, your views on what should and shouldn't be stickied don't count. Get over it. I don't see why you cant simply contribute questions relevant to the game and just move on. Also, at this point, I don't care what utterly specific thing you argued about, because it was still irrelevant to the game itself and didnt contribute to the FAQ. When you do that, I'll take you seriously.
Shame. I still can't take you seriously even after answering these questions. Your not one of those people who thinks he knows everything about the subject are you? Those types of people who live, breathe, eat, s***, the subject?
By the way I also shouldn't have to put in my opinion twice in a post, unless you are really that slow. In that case: THE PREVIOUS POST WAS OF MY OWN OPINION. (that's a disclaimer by the way)

Are there any other questions, suggestions, etc. about the game that you feel that should be added to the FAQ? I think I may get started on the next version early due to how much this version was derailed.

- Dec 5, 2011 10:49 pm GMTNo need to make a new thread. All the information is on the first page, and the crap that nobody is interested in doesn't have to be sifted through.

Well to everyone who didn't get caught up in the argument, thanks for not doing so and I apologize myself for being caught in it near the end........due to how much this version was derailed.
what argument?
from what i can tell jubjub was modded for having a conversation & disagreeing with either someone popular or a mod (either way it's unfair & par for the course around here)
then, we had a discussion about double standards & mod bias around here which is for the record rampant
now.......... as to your topic being derailed, for the record i happen to agree with Jub, this is a FAQ & should be in the......... hmmmm FAQ? section perhaps, unless it got rejected, in which case it needs more content & then a resubmit
also related to your topic being derailed, this board is #1 right now & this thread is stickied at the top of it, what better place to bring it to people attention about improper moderation? you think a topic purely devoted to that discussion will stay up around here? *no*
btw jub has another point, this is a forum & people discuss things, topics get derailed......... what makes you think you or this OP are so special as to void that rule? - Dec 6, 2011 6:37 am GMT

You do realize that topic derailment in general is against the rules right? Not just my topic? You just made it sound like there was a rule that topics SHOULD be derailed, which is... completely wrong.

1st yes........... have you been on the internet long??? it's called the Murphy's law of blog douches. No matter how good your post is, it will be trolled, derailed, & otherwise ruined for absolutely no gain or purpose. It sucks, yes, but......... lol, how do you not know this?
2nd fixed that for you.... like it or not, it just is - Dec 6, 2011 6:53 am GMTWell in any case, codemann is right. Most of the argument happened in the tail end of this topic, and gamefaqs has an easy way for me to find posts that are relevant.
