Apiary-a place where Bees are kept. I know all anyone needs to know about them because my Mom had a friend of hers that gave us free honey. I'm a big fan of them but,hey,free honey is good. Just wear the outfit,you'll be okay(especially if you're allergic to them).
After limping through skyrim and barely finishing it before it became unplayable I wasn't even remotely interested in playing anything else in the form of DLC. In the future I'll either be "getting" Bethesda games on the PC or not playing them at all. At least not until they start making games that aren't busted for half the people that play them.
So i get that bethesda is thinking they wont get their money out of making sure dawnguard works well on the ps3 but here is my point, is it worth it to your customer base? You just pissed off every ps3 gamer..most of which now are choosing to boycott their games...seems like long term it will be worth it
@Leeric420 I don't think its about bethesda not thinking it will be worth it, i think its more about not wanting to piss them off even more by selling them a broken piece of crap. I suppose they could give you guys whatever they have for dawnguard now, perhaps it will erase any save game files you might have, or maybe it will just crash your game every five minutes, or maybe it simply will download but not activate and you end up paying for something you can't play anyways.
2 Like i dont see why so many hate on this. if you play skyrim on a pc fuck off and dont buy it. you guys have plenty of mods for homes and to keep you guys busy but console users dont have that luxury. i play on a xbox and am happy with this dlc. in a home i basically want a room that i could put my armor on a bunch of mannequins and to have more weapon racks. this dlc gives me that and more. sucks that all the ps3 owners having to wait so long for dlc though.
You can really see the Minecraft influence in this DLC. Although minecraft is a lot more thorough in its implementation. A LOT more! :)
Does Gamespot realy not realize that Hearthfire is a month in the calendar of the elder scrolls series?
amazing how Bethesda makes DLCs for such a buggy/glitchy game and yet no DLCs for Rage which has alot less bugs. Oh well, F*** it. Last time I will by an ID game that "promised" DLCs for their games.

@DESTROYRS_F8 I couldn't even play Rage because my hardware was mysteriously not supported. Waste of 60 bucks.
@goggles123456 @DESTROYRS_F8 Maybe they didn't bother making DLC for Rage because it sold rather poorly? why spend money making DLC noone is gonna buy anyways?

@EvilShabazz @u I stopped playing my PS3 when I realised I had to download games just to play them. Then you have to download between chapters....
That is why I love ps3 exclusives, one they are good and two pc player cant say how crap it looks because they cant compare it with the pc ver
I am addicted to Skyrim and I am always looking for a reason to keep on playing. So I guess what I am saying is, I will be buying this DLC no matter what.
2 Like I'll skip this one. Adds nothing I want. Mods give far better houses than anything you can create yourself with this limited DLC. Raise a family? No thanks, its an RPG and my character wouldn't want them. Its obviously aimed more towards consoles which don't have access to mods.

PC version (with mods) looks 1,000,000 times better (PS 2 verses PS3 better) and you can get the same DLC for free with mods. Consoles = PC's slow witted cousin!
It might not add anything to the story, but this kinda stuff is still fun. I'm excited for it.

2 Like @raphaeluz Oblivion had 4 home DLCs that were almost exactly like this one. They sure didn't make it any less of a great game.
Next in-line for DLC: Skyrim: PetHouse - You can hire giants to babysit your adorable pet trolls while you go dungeon exploring

3 Like @depman1972 Bethesda seems to be having a PS3 crisis at the moment but fingers crossed that they sort it out and PS3 players get some DLC love
Can' t say I' m crazy about it but I could say it' s a pretty decent DLC. Although I' ll be waiting for another add-on like Dawnguard which actually offers more hours of solving quests and exploring.
You guys are a buch of cheapskates, still I was hoping for a little more freedom with the house placement, or atleast a few more plots of land around Skyrim instead of just 3.
1 Like With DLC like this, one has to remind oneself that this is supposed to be an RPG game with an emphasis on open-world adventure, and not The Sims 4. This sort of thing is irrelevant rubbish and not what Bethesda should be focusing on.

7 Like Oblivion had 9 pieces of DLC in it's lifetime. Only 2 added anything substantial to the story. Knights of the Nine and the Shivering Isles. The rest were small and cheap. Including 4 that specifically focus on the player owning real estate. Just like this one here. We've already been given our Knights of the Nine style DLC with Dawnguard. Shivering Isles didn't come out until the end of Oblivion's lifespan. Everything else in between was crap like this.
Skyrim isn't even a year old yet. It could easily be a year or more before we get our "Shivering Isles". Expect more DLC like this to come. Don't like it? Don't buy it. It's a pretty simple concept.
Besides things could be a lot worse. We could have no DLC at all like some console owners that we know... @_@
@Shika_Stoner its an interesting concept, but I think you should take into consideration the Fallout series as well. Oblivion is an old game now and between it and Skyrim there were 2 Fallout games which had plenty of story related DLC. We'll have to wait and see if this is strictly a TES thing or a matter of Bethesda changing their DLC policy in all their games.
when they include building your own castle like Neverwinter Nights by procuring raw material veins and sites, then it will truly be complete... actually if ppl remember you had to prepare your keep for the final battle in NWN. Dragon Age Awakening had something similar... It would be pretty awesome to command a small army against another enemy...
And yet the spouse is all cool with you bringing home kids instead of making one yourself. PC gamers are odd with their silly mods.
I'm happy with this for $5. And to whom it may concern, don't worry, Bethesda won't put down this game for a while so you can bet there will be plenty of time for them to make a DLC with Shivering Isles quality.
looks like bethesda is really late to the game with this one. There have been player made mods like this out for months now.
