The GameSpot Staff sounds off on the games we can't wait to see more of at E3 2012.
when i saythe trailer last year i pooped a little lol cuz i love uncharted i even bought a vita so i can play uncharted on the vita, PS buy a vita its worth the price and what it can do is like a ps3 fucked an ipod touch lol but better. but naughty dog is gunna be the ones holding all the titles from here on out because they have something no other game has and no other game producers can bring.
lol good to see the Gamespot staff is unanimous in their opposition to the Eldar Scrolls Online. I don't really agree with their concerns. I don't see how going online hampers exploration at all. Regardless, if it fails online, it isn't going to retroactively damage what they've already created. If they need to fall back to single player, I'm sure they will remember how to do what they do best.
Give it a chance Gamespot, what's there to lose? Oh yeah and The Last of Us looks incredible.
Looking forward for The Last of Us as well :)Hm Lara, I dunno......after the massive Letdown that Underworld was compared to Legend maybe a good idea to relaunch but then again, Nathan Drake proves the old Lara Concept (or should I say Indiana Jones ^^) still works in modern days. And about Overstrike......waaait...you try a all brand new IP and want to be innovative about it. So you take one of the most overused genres these days (shooter) and let it at least in the trailer look like the really great Binary Domain?Goood luck with THAT kind of "innovation" *whistle* :/
Overstrike looks interesting, Fortnight could be interesting...I'll need to see more of them. The Last Of us.....I wasn't so quick to jump on this one, the initial trailer looked okay but it wasn't until a feature in Game Informer that I was like yeah this could be good.....Plus Naughty Dog has a strong track record.....
I've never seen Overstrike before but now that I have, I'm interested in it. Looks like a game with a quality single-player in mind.
The thoughts from the team on Tomb Raider is interesting. I'd be a little shocked if the developers took back their original modus operandi and made it feel more like the older Tomb Raiders. I think it should just keep going in the direction it's going in. It's fresh and since they're overall making Tomb Raider different, it should remain that way. The only thing I'm concerned about is the quicktime events. Perhaps I'm exaggerating but it seems like they've been frequent in the trailers which is slightly nerve-racking. Hopefully that's not the case.
nothing new tomb raider and last of us for me even last of us first time at e3. MMO of edlers scroll going to fail i like the last game skyrim . Overstrike was las years E3 but pass on this not my cup of tea lol.
tomb raider is finally competing with uncharted this is a must buy, wish to see more of the last of us and where the hell is final fantasy versus!!
@sephiroth-87 No, Tomb Raider is not competing with Uncharted. Competing implies it will be a similar type of game. It won't be. It will not have a big emphasis on cover based shooting. The platforming will not be completely automated and the puzzles are actually going to be good and important instead of just being there for the sake of "variety". It will also be a hell of a lot more open and less linear. The entire tone of the game is completely different as well. Both in story and gameplay. What, because it throws in a few big set pieces the gameplay is all of a sudden comparable?
Hmm that tomb raider looks good, Lara with a more "girl next door" look is über sexy. Not usually a fan of post apocalyptic games, but a father daughter survival team worked well in "Kickass" so it might work well here too.
there isn't any games I care about at this e3 sad to say but I'm ready for the next gen to come about...
I really hope Crystal Dynamics DON*T change the direction they are taking this new Tomb Raider. I have never liked the series and this game is my most anticipated games right now and have been since last year or so.Also... the game has some kind of open world/hub element to it. Some people in the game press have seen it and written about it. They just decided to not show it during E3 or after. To bad since many people lashed out at the game be because the demo made it look extremly linear. This game looks frikken awesoem and I can't wait to get to see more of it!
As Long as Beyond Good And Evil 2 is either mentioned or shown at E3 next week i'll be happy. the first game is still a great title. As for Tomb Raider i look forward to that game as well and don't mind having to wait until next year to play it as long as it turns out as good as Legend and Anniversay!!!
I hope the Tomb Raider game is the same just more polished up. Cuz I love it when a studio tries to innovate, do something different than the expected.
We need more of that. Not just in games, but in creative works period. Movies, TV shows, books. All that needs to stop being so formulaic and predictable.
i never liked a single naughty dog product its so repetitive the same thing all over again the last of us better not be te same
i wish they would release this for Xbox but unfortunately Naughty Dog only releases games on Sony consoles
Very upset "The Last of Us" will not be released for anything but PS3. Oh well. Glad for PS3 owners.
No doubt at all the Last of Us will be brilliant, Naughty Dog have given me my favourite ever franchise with Uncharted and that's saying a lot. Looking forward to E3 a hell of a lot this year.
p.s. I totally want Kevin's Starhawk t-shirt :(
strange how evil lives on when nothing more exists , oh I forgot there has got
to be existence or there would be no evil ! ~ sorry ...
hopefully they aren't' going back to original tomb rider, it looks fantastic now
the original franchise is too old, filled with cliches that could rival duke nukem and all in all it definitely needs to grow up in some way or another, it shows its age badly and the subpar scores the latest ones got while desperately sticking to the old tired formula are just more of a reason to depart away from it
as for last of us, great setting but I dislike storytelling in video games, it always comes on expense of exploration and freedom of decision which are the values I look for in a game, if I want a good story I go watch a movie, which in all respect towards developers, still have scripts of incomparably better quality than anything I've ever seen in a video game
I'm afraid last of us will be insultingly linear for its setting, filled with annoying characters which you cannot kill and have little to no sense of survival
give me a post apocalyptic open world Manhattan filled with monsters and other survivors to interact with, fully sandbox world where I can kill anybody without ruining my progress in the game, random events, moral choices, hard survival where people kill each other for cans of food, without hp bars in where untreated wounds lead to infection and ultimately certain death
a game which I can play however long I want to, not until the credits start to roll
that's the kind of game I'd like the last of us to be, but yeah not gonna happen
I'll have my hopes up for Survarium instead, either way good luck to all the games mentioned, cheers !
So you're talking of a last of us game like fallout? where you have an open world sandbox and monsters everywere. I agree partly, i agree that there should be more of a sandbox feel to it but at the same time it's just awesome to have a great game with amazing cutscenes like the uncharted franchise. But no matter how the game will play, i'm sure naughty dog will make a great game. @Talavaj
the last of us environment design reminds me of '' I am Legend'', I really liked that movie's atmosphere...!
Insomniac developing for X360?! What the hell is going on? Sony is losing yet another piece??
I just need to know Final Fantasy Versus XIII gameplay demo would be ready by now at least....and maybe just maybe, Tales of Xillia International Version trailer.
@NeroHaseo Glad to see someone still remembering that game..
SE is sure taking their sweet time with it this time.
Nice video, I'm really looking forward to seeing more on The Last of Us, Metro: Last Light and Far Cry 3.
