@romedawg Game franchises don't grow as you do. We still like to see Mario shooting fireballs instead of wielding a flamethrower. If you don't enjoy playing Zelda, you stop: you don't expect it to change according to what you want. The Legend of Zelda is a hardcore (yes. it isn't a casual game) adventure game for all audiences, not only the mature ones. It's not supposed to be realistic.
Dang, Its Zelda, and I know its pedigree...but am I 30 now and I guess I keep waiting for link to grow up with me...I will still play it {after I dust off my wii...sigh} but I guess Im just looking for something that feels less cartoon and more realistic
In all fairness and fanboyism set aside. Are you happy with the graphics on this game? I'm happy because thats probably as good as it will get for the Wii, but hopefully they improve for the next iteration of Nintendo's console.
Technically this game looks good, and I know that graphics are not what make a game good, but I'm pretty much tired of Nintendo's laciness with technical visuals. Nintendo was always know for better gameplay and graphics since the Gamecube and after that it was all about innovation. How much more innovation can you put into a format before you go back to your roots. Obviously people are tired of the motion crāp so the need to start focusing on making a comeback on their visuals. I wonder why the 3DS is having a hard time.
will be out on the new nintendo console that has better graphics then xbox 360 so I guess they will buff it at the final product.

I don't get it , why are there so many people saying that the graphics suck? they are just diferent, a kind of mix between TP and the toon series
All of the hate the nintendo gets for how it dissapoints its core fans... Nintendo never fails when it comes to its core franchisees. All of their games at A games(NSMBWii, Sunshine, Other M, LoZ, TP, WIndwaker etc...). Every once in a while a A+ comes out(SMG1,2, OOT, Prime1,3 SmashBros, DKCr etc...) point is, after all they have done for core gamers this gen(just look at 2010), people still think they will fail.
This trailer was unfinished. Watch Link's hand at the beginning when he is grabbing his sword and you'll see what I mean.

The cartoony graphics isnīt like in wind walker etc. FX in windwalker the graphics was more square shaped, like the persons head...
i really like the art style, because in twilight princess i was getting a little bit sad when playing it, for the graphics was so dark but still good. Games like mario kart i am happy whilst playing because the very ligth graphics, and that i to thing that i am going to be with this game
While this looks great and all and i do love a good Zelda game, i can't help but think that the new control scheme is going to take it's toll on you. If we're having to mimic swordplay in this one then after a couple of hours of playing your arm is going to be hurting. Also having to mimic firing a bow/slingshot will be quite annoying. Still, i can't wait :P
the graphics are REALLY cartoony in this game. not that this is a flaw, because Wind Waker is one of my favorite games of all time. I just wish they didn't play on the gimmicks of the wii's controls so much. I still prefer the gamecube version of twilight princess to this day. I sold my wii, because they stopped making games i was interested in. hopefully the next system generation won't consist of an arm-flailing gimmick so I can start enjoying Zelda games again..
wtf the graphics suck when you make a new game you are suppose to improve the mistakes not mess it up. looks like Twilight princess is still number 1 to me. :(
The outstanding realism of Twilight Princess combined with the stunning cel shaded visuals of Windwaker, in addition to the Wii's excellent remote controls is equal to one phenomenal Skyward Sword !_!
i don't know about this.. I mean i hope it'll be great, but I'm not sure from what I see. It'll be hard to top Twilight Princess.
i just love how he grabs that sword at the beginning. such pizzazz and looking at the screen with a serious face. gotta get this game when it comes out!

Seems like quite a good game to me. I think the graphics aren't as good as TP but it still looks aright. I'll most probably get this game, but I'll just wait and see the reviews first.
@georobb11 its not a "glitch" it is because most people are right handed and it would be confusing to have link using his left hand and you using your right. and to all of those people ho say link always has his sword pointing forward, thats because people have an "instinct" to point at the screen all the time.
Love the art styIe, the controls, just about everything. And I'm not even a huge Zelda fan.
lol Link got tired of doing the same repetitive crap over and over again so he jumped off a cliff. That is a fitting end...
@ kolby157 the reason people say link is a child in WW is because he looks like a child.. all of the adults are simply older looking and taller than he is, and he just looks very childish.. even more so than OoT or MM young link. Anyway, I can't judge by 1:44 of trailer footage as many people are doing, but I am not getting my hopes up for this game. I haven't really enjoyed a Zelda game since Oot, and I keep playing through it and master quest just to get my zelda fix every now and then. WW was super disappointing for me, and TP was a decent, but not a great game, especially for holding the Zelda title. I loved the original and LttP, and OoT was obviously my fav (like most people), but I have yet to encounter another Zelda game that lives up to the greatness of those 3, and I doubt this one will deliver.
Why are people saying that WW link is a child. It says that in WW he was the same age as the Oot link. So technically... Link is not really a kid in WW. BTW i love the art style of Skyward sword. I know Mr. Myamoto will not release the game until it is an absolute masterpiece. I can't wait to play this!!!
While I prefer the TP graphical style, I think this one is ok, I just wish it weren't quite so bright. Use cel shading, just with a more muted, earthy color pallete. I realize we've only seen a small portion of the game so far, but still. An integral part of Zelda games is goofy characters and comic relief, but the game's art style needs to communicate a sense of danger and foreboding in the more serious portions.
