This might just be the ONLY MMO I'll find myself interested in. Damn it feels good to be a PC gamer.
sorry, but whenever I see in games or even movies where some huge monster is right there behind you and the person don't even hear them coming is total BS. I hear my dog approaching whenever it's around. You think these people wouldn't hear some enormous, 500lbs monster coming around the corner?
Don't count on any plot lines introduced in this game to be cogent or get tied up (tho it being an MMO no one is expecting that anyway); the lead designer wrote the best adventure game of all time (The Longest Journey) and then a sequel (Dreamfall) and left them both on cliffhangers that don't make much sense.
Let`s see ...this is a game made by Funcom. So what we could expect from them? From my 3 year XP in AoC i was enjoying the best graphics in MMO ever made (Dreamworld engine), great sound/music, impressive combat style and nice storyline ...but also lots of lags, unstable servers, unbalanced classes, pvp cheaters and tons of bugs (and new ones to come with every patch they made).
This trailer did not tell us anything about the gameplay. No matter how nice movie they try to use to promote their product, as gamer, we only want good in game experience. If it is another WoW clone, I don't think there is any reason for attracting me to join. Btw it is published by EA......
looks promising. hopefully this game will not only look good in the trailer but inside the game too.
i think this game will be ok. its my opinion guys.
'caz funcom do working so hard for free this game.
Yeah right... and we must buy this game because funcom did great with age of conan? Sorry but funcom must have to come up with something bigger than some 3d neat animations. This game will fail.
There are so many MMO's out there right now that they all just seem to be clones of each other....what needs to happen is some one need to take a serious look at what are the best parts of the MMO's thenput them in one game....but with the way the market is its just easy and cheaper to keep making copies cuz people are just going to buy them anyways
I don't know about online games anymore. It's hard to make a good MMORPG since you're writing stories any type of character can play through, which means they have to be so generic that people parade through them in mass. All the MMO's I've played (WoW for example) were dumb-ed down to be so easy a guy controlling 5+ characters at once could even do elite PvP. (Shamans are overpowered) And don't get me started on how easy it is to gear and level up.
@jesse66127 I really suggest you to try or do some research on GW2. Even it is still in beta, I believe you should try to look at comments written by those who joined the beta weekend events. It may change your understanding about MMO.
But i will say this game's concept looks very cool and its intriguing to me especially because i love the story they're going with. We'll see, i'm in beta, should be fun.
TERA is the best MMO under the radar. No media attention whatsoever because its a small developer while crap like Diablo and GW has so much money to dump on advertising they sell you on that alone. Play TERA if you haven't. It at least outstepped the boundaries of your usual flare MMO in terms of gameplay.
The passion shown by the designers on certain game aspects does remind me of SWTOR where 80% of the system concentrated on story and not game play which made the game boring as hell (for me anyway). Is this game going to concentrate on a massive skill tree and crafting ?? On the small amount of game play videos I have watched it looks like the enemy doesn't even flinch when hit - Hopefully I'm wrong.
I always wonder if these conspiracy games eg Assassins Creed, this, etc, are actually based on real life and some higher up is trying to send us a message, a clue as to whats going on
As SWTOR concentrated 85% on storyline and the game play was boring I have a bad feeling this will spend 85% on skill trees and crafting. The small amount of game play I have seen on the vids look very ridged, enemies don't seem to react they just show blood splat ?? - Hopefully I'm wrong.
This looks very interesting and could be fun. I'm not that big on MMOs but this could change that if it turns out good.
Bought this pearl of a game pre-order. To put it that way I know someone that tried it in Beta. It Will Blow People Away Look for the beta weekends starting the 11th of may ;)
Anarchy Failed, Conan passed as an mmo but couldnt compete, but this Secret World mmo shows alot of potential because its taking alot of risks.
Anarchy failed, Conan failed, 3rd time's a charm for Failcom with The Secret World? I'll believe it when I see it. Don't get your hopes up too much.
I am attracted to the "present day" setting for this mmo, and do have very high hopes for it's playability. Certainly looks very well done so far.
