Looks very nice but I would like him to pull out both swords to fight with and not just for executions. Also the camera feels very cramped. Other than that It's a definite buy for me
@Terrorraid your hatred for The Witcher 2 is astounding judging by the fact that have have posted more then twice. i bet the witcher 2 is too hardcore for players like you and maybe you should stick with the soo called dragon age 2 then this hardcore game the witcher 2...
This is looking very promising... The first was an aquired taste for me, once I got into it it was very rewarding. This one looks like it's going to be better in the right sort of ways.
Games like this one are definitely worth buying! Because the teams that make them invested a lot of time and effort to bring great and twisted story, innovative and challenging gameplay...for the real gamers. This game can not be compared to gta (childish) kinda style games...which obviously exist only as a gold mines (because that is a "public secret") Anyway, games made for real gamers are so rare last 5 years, would be good to have more games like this one. Also, ive read a few bad comments, like that one from "Zombie117", and I can only tell you this: Real gamer dont play games on console, they play games for PC. Ive played consoles when i was 9, grown em up looong time ago... Console is for casual fun and it doesn't really brings the maximum of the game, especially when you consider that DX9 is their limit lol :) Thumbs up guys for Witcher 2
@Terrorraid Yes the graphics are bad, but the reason for that is "it is a early pre-beta build*, other videos have better quality and the like, but the end product will look nothing like this unless you are running a poor comp, to which case you are ruining the game :D

This is what I imagined Fable 2 and 3 to look like. Also, games should be released on consoles first, then PC.
@Humorguy_basic completely agree and that is the way all games should be developed: PC first, then port to consoles, not the other way around. If they do the same thing with Skyrim, that will be awesome

Why the heck did GS start that game in such a low resolution? It looks like 640x480 :( There were some flaws in the gameplay itself, but then again - it's not even beta. The game looks and plays waaaay better than the first one. Only the lines are unchanged - they're great as always :) "Eat s**t and die!" :D
Doesnt look like my PC can support this game. I might consider buying Alienware just for this :D
It will be written for the PC, and if a console version comes out it will be a CONVERSION from the PC version. Not like 99% of games that are conversions FROM console to PC!
I don't know where all of you see that this game is going to be consolised. It is confirmed for now just for the PC, i don't know why there is a card for a console version on Gamespot. The graphics are looking stunning, looking so far to be the most beatiful RPG of this year. The combat is more tactical, i like the combat system in the first but this is definitly more tactical approach. RPG system is nothing short of the first game and there are more new features, like open world, the chance to climb up ladders, jump over fences, im some moments to play a short time for another character, more mini-games, more difficult morality choices, better side-quests, more fluid conversation system, gameplay time just for main story about 25 - 30 hours (with side-quests from 50 to 70 hours), atc. This is going to be the best RPG game of the year, people (maybe Skyrim, but just maybe).
Above the video: "The Witcher 2 - Pre-Beta Build - Not Representative of Final Game Quality" So hold on the hate a bit guys. Believe me, any unfinished game looks bad, specially graphic wise. By the way, what the you guys think, looks like Dx10 or Dx11? Some rocks seem to have some kind of tessallation (i think?) but others are a bit more plain.
Geez, I'm looking forward to see if this game has received some improvements since the first game. I had some difficulties in the first one, not my type of game, but still, it has it's charming points (abso-f*cking-lutely). I hope I will see some beautiful wounds and, haha, some awesome lines. Maybe the story itself is awesome?
@Terrorraid I thought they were going to wait and see how great the demand is before making a decision regarding the console version(s)? Or have you found something that suggests otherwise?

sadly... Witcher 2 gets the Console AXE.... ffs... this video looks horrible... why cant developers focus on quality rather than earning more money in makeing cheap ports like this... TOTALLY DISAPOINTED... /takes the witcher 2 off from his wanted list.

hmm sounds like it will kinda like da2 just better whit some luck were u could play it action like on easy and normale and more tactic play on hard and up.
ill admit this video looks bad but i think thats just the sytem they are using it on this game looks great on all the other media ive seen.
I really hope they don't consolize Witcher 2. Sadly, just by looking at the video it's obvious they already 'streamlined' it comparing to Witcher 1. I don't want another Dragon Age 2
The battle system seems more elaborate than the first game, as the in-game menus. I adored Witcher 1 because it has a really simple battle system once you mastered the timing, and a very enjoyable one, especially the execution style after a stun or knockdown. From this demo the radial menu is PATHETIC, it ruined my gameplay experience in Crysis, I do not mind if the signs and weapons occupy the left side of the screen, in fact I prefer to see them over there. The witcher medallion is also really small, does it mean that the monster-magic detection won't be there in Witcher 2? The graphics are great, but honestly all modern games have awesome graphics. I don't know if anyone has noticed that the game provides less perspective of the battlefield, and no click-timed attacks. I am going to miss this unique feature. Unfortunately the Witcher seems to be reduced to an ordinary RPG with great graphics. Hope that Geralt is not also reduced to the common RPG "hero", plain, flat and witless. Infinite growth, my ... P.S. Do his eyes look different as well? I finished Witcher 1 a week ago (again) and now I think something is amiss with Geralt's appearance, less badass I guess.
I'm curious enough. It's only a pre-beta build and it's looking like all it's parts are in the right place. A little mechanic and cosmetic polishing and it might be a decent action-fantasy ride. Honestly I'm saving my cherry for Skyrim cause it's gonna rock but this has lots of potential from where I'm standing. I will say it doesn't really look like it's breaking any really new ground though. And as a gamer of 30+ years I tend to with some exceptions tune out games that I suspect I've played before. I'm not ruling this one out yet though
Dear God, this game looks terrible. Mechanic and not fluid at all in the combat. By all means, the world looks decent, but the fighting did not look fun at all.
So waiting for this game, OMG I dont know how to waitt Till MAYY!! Damn ima drink some temerian rye vodka and play some dice baby !!
@Elann2008 They changed it to make him more Slavic lookin' like in first Witcher cuz there was a lot of complaints :) I think new face looks much better
@Crisuletz atari is the publisher they do not own cd projekt red like ea with bioware, they just publish the game and probably are partners in this , the ones that are making the game are cd projekt which made the first witcher, the problem would be forcing the release date and that would be bad
I need to know one thing. Did they change Geralt's to look more like the original? I've noticed some new screenshots and it seems like they did. I liked his new look! Why did they change it back??? GRRRR...

Looks like a good game. I hope it will be, because I liked the first part. Then again after the TDU2 sequel fiasco I got my fears when I see atari involved in this game :(
