i am disapointed yes but then again, we got an awesome weapon customization feature (which i bet they had to sacrifice some stuff in the game to make room for this feature)
- Apr 19, 2012 1:06 pm GMTWhy have 100 assault rifles when everyone only picks 3 - 4.
- Apr 19, 2012 1:07 pm GMTwell i dont think we need 100 but there are a few others i would like to see.

its not, thats one of the rifles I feel should be in the game.
the russians have the AK-12, and the AK-47 if you reserve it, yet the americans get the ACR and the TAVOR.
the assault class rifles are these
ghost
ACR
TAVOR
russian
AK-200(ak-12)
A-91(chinese bullpup)
thats it 4 assault rifles, 2 Battle rifles, and 8 light machine guns.
i mean do we really need 4 LMG's per faction for the assault class?

oh ok. at least the acr is in. i've always liked the acr
- Apr 19, 2012 1:35 pm GMTno the M4 is not in but the HK416/7 is in. Most US tier one unit have moved over to the HK 417 anyways so no worries.

the HK417 is a 7.62 battle rifle, not the same thing
also DEVGRU is the only US unit that has moved to the HK416, all the others use either the M4A1 with SOPMOD Block II or the M4 CQBR with SOPMOD Block II
Also since you brought up who gets issued what, no one is issued the ACR.

Well seeing as there are only 2 well known tier 1 units CAG and Devgru (and both use the hk by the way only the SEALS using it will be your little secret). Yes you are right no one is issued the ACR and no one mentioned that.
Please feel free to refute anything I said with your wealth of knowledge about black special ops and before you mention it I am well aware that there are at least two more tier 1 units so please don't bring it up.
The point was TC was looking for an assault rifle US forces use since there are 2 different AK variants and I pointed out that tc shouldn't fret because the HK is there. Doesn't matter there will be a much broader selection at launch and with the weapon customization being as deep as it is I look forward to having real control over my weapon choice. - Apr 19, 2012 2:06 pm GMTstv109 posted...

again the HK417 is a battle rifle, the ones in military use are set up as DMR's.
I wouldnt call the HK417 an assault rifle.
CAG does to an extent and SEAL teams do to an extent use the HK416, I've met a few that used the M4CQBR SOPMOD Block II though as well

No worries brotha(excuse the assumption) no cheap shot intended I have known a few who use the MP7 and the SCAR myself so it's all good. Have you tried changing the gas block system on any other weapons yet I can't really notice the difference in accuracy. Then again it's a game and I do fire in bursts so that might explain it. - Apr 19, 2012 2:25 pm GMTstv109 posted...

IDK, I dont seem to notice much improvement with many of the upgrades honestly.
I still think that if they are adding in the AK-47(preorder) and the M14(really?) of all rifles they could have thrown in the M4.

thats a big negative.
SOCOM discontinued all purchases of the MK16(SCAR-L) after finding it did nothing significantly better than their new M4A1's and put the rest of the funding into the purchase of the MK17 and MK20 rifles(SCAR-H and SCAR-H sniper)
The ACR is the bastard child of Magpul made by Bushmaster, it is currently entered into the Army IC(improved carbine) competition.
As of now none of the IC rifles entered into the competition do anything significantly better than the M4A1 now fielded by the Army. In order for an adoption of a new rifle, said rifle would have to do something significantly better, and none of the rifles do.
at most the IC rifles offer small incremental upgrades, and none of which warrant spending 100million plus to upgrade, retrain, and stock parts.
also there is nothing wrong with the M4, having used one I never had a stoppage that was not attributed to faulty beat up magazines, keep it lubed and it will run, clean it during down time(field cleaning is a quick wipe down with a rag) dont worry about a thorough till your back inside the wire......

psn: sinlessorrow mgo: SinlesSorrow - Apr 22, 2012 2:32 pm GMTI could have swore I read somewhere that there would be over 50 different weapons in the game. Ah well, still a decent selection. Personally I like having a wide range of choices. Sure things are bound to get redundant but I've never been to use the most powerful or popular weapon. In MW2 I used to switch it up all the time. Not many people used the FAL but I loved that gun. To me it's all about personal style.

Activision - Misery never cost so much - Apr 23, 2012 12:46 am GMTThe "Goblin" looks similar to the M4. Maybe with something like a CQBR style receiver on it?
Haven't played Engi so I haven't taken a good look at it. - Apr 29, 2012 4:52 pm GMTgoblin aka m4cqc version is in the game
