1 Like No spoiler alert, Gamespot? So much fail these days with this website. Be warned folks, this video includes the clip of Lara Croft's first kill. Don't watch if you don't want to be spoiled...
I hope the developers do not kill this game with linear gameplay, when I played the orginal PS1 game it was all about adventure, and really studying her surroundings, and finding out how the environment helped us follow on to the next level (chapter).
2 Like They are going to completely nail this thing. The cut scenes look fantastic! I wouldn't trade this Lara Croft for any of the previous iterations, are you morons kidding me? Dude catches an arrow with his face and the game isn't violent enough? Get a clue. We don't need more of the same anyway! Especially in the climate we're already in. We're being force fed the same crap everyday and they're starting to throw $50 price tags on it *ahem* DLC *ahem* I seriously want to yell and scream "**** all of you haters!"
I love Tomb Raider, and all its adventure and platforming elements. Not to mention Lara Croft, she's so hot and Miss Luddington's gonna nail being the iconic heroine. Anyway, Zach Levi's narration and involvement in this making-of is superb. Cheers!

I wonder if there's a game inside too or if it's just an "interactive" cinematic experience like Max Payne 3 was with its meager 2 hours of fully linear actual gameplay between the unskippable cutscenes.

I hope it mixes all the previous Lara Croft's games, and add more drama, extreme challenges, and hours if not hundreds of hours, to get this to the end.
4 Like Wow, so many badasses around here who apparently would have no problem or hesitation what so ever in killing a person.
I think it is great that they show the emotional impact that it take on Lara her first kill, it would be much weirder if she would have been ok after having killed her first person.
I can understand a character growing acostumated with death after having to kill many bad guys, but it does not happen over night, it needs time, they are killing a human being, i can't understand how people think that would be emotionally easy.
Woman writer puts her emotional stink on a game that could have been good. The reaction they show from Lara's first kill here makes me cringe.. that is a reaction that a woman who is academic and geeky and would THINK is a realistic reaction.
This bitch just doesn't understand violence. And the whole game will focus on real emotional - mostly violent - situations like this that none of the writers know anything about. They could learn about this stuff, but they didn't need to do that to get the job.
Can't judge the whole game obviously. But them putting so much focus on "laras first murder" in EVERY interview about the game, but then fucking it up, is hilarious.

Or maybe you know it from the movies and comics, because movies and comics are always so realistic.
1 Like I find it hilarious that you think your opinion is anymore valid than her's when in reality, there's a large percentage of cops and soldiers that report either: that events of their first kill were vaguely remembered or complete memory loss of the event.
3 Like To me Lara seems a lot more realistic than she has been in previous Tomb Raider games and it's quite hard for any of us to judge exactly how we would react in such extreme circumstances. I'm not sure whether you think that the reaction is too strong, too weak or off the mark but remember that everyone is somewhat different in how they respond to things and that the emotional impact would most likely be heightened for sheltered young woman thrown in at the deep end.
All I can say that Tomb Raider is all original, way back to psx and pc that day.. maybe it has similarities with other games like uncharted; that's b'coz uncharted copied TR series.. so TR games seize the opportunity to copy some ideas from other games. For many gamers out there, this kind of gaming, engine, graphics etc. is now a trend and in demand now a days! sori 4 my bad english xD

Which is completely feels like an uncharted clone ... Admit it!

6 Like If the title wasn't Tomb Raider and the main character wasn't called Lara Croft, you wouldn't guess this has anything to do with the Tomb Raider games.

1 Like This video got me pumped. When they said "this is the game of our careers" I got very exited for them. I wonder if I'll ever get that feeling. The game looks fantastic and I cannot wait to see the people's respond and the reviews.

@Whole-Lotta It's just baffling to me that one can't make a connection if the protagonist is a girl. It's not like i am that character, i am neither Master Chief nor Lara Croft, i'm playing them. And you get a nice view. Win.
