The Cybertronians/Transformers engineered humanoid life (Ramapithecus, Australopithecus, Homo Erectus, Homo Neanderthanensis, Homo Sapiens, and Homo Sapiens Sapiens) from the available materials on Earth mimicking and improving upon existing lifeforms (ancestral primates). Shockwave was alive for some time on Earth millions of years ago before the Dinobots took him out.

I actually like the replay better b/c I knew what I was doing and could go through the levels fairly smoothly. That made it seemed like one seamless, fast-paced action fantasy.

That was only because all of the Transformers were standardized for Co-op. Now that the co-op is removed, both the level design and the gameplay are able to be much better and engaging.
