There is no question that Wesker is the best character in the game.
Most people use him as an anchor (last character) in their team, which unlocks the ability to have Level 3 X Factor.
In Level 3 X Factor, Wesker enables the ability to get 70% more damage for 21 seconds, but that isn't it.
When Wesker takes off his glasses, he gets AN ADDITIONAL 10 - 15% more damage, and this can be done at any time of the match.
Needless to say also, Wesker's combos are some of the most simplest in the game.
Ex: Light, Medium, Heavy, Quarter Circle Light, Diagonal Heavy, Medium, Heavy, Special, Medium, Medium, Heavy, Special, and Diagonal Heavy can add up to an easy 600,000 damage, and can be brought to 700,000 by doing Quarter Circle Medium, Medium, and Heavy before the Special Attack.

Best character is up in the air as the game has barely been out long enough to judge them all. -
The best character just depends on your play style. You've got plenty of characters with high health like Wesker or Sentinel, but characters like Pheonix or wolverine work just as well. Try going into training and experimenting with different teams and characters. You may find your own favorite

It really depends on the type of fighter you use when you play games like these. You've got the cheap characters like dante (who can just string all of his cheapness together). You've got wesker who has nearly all counters. All the characters are different and certain ones fit certain people. I suggest for a team like mine getting a cheap character, a tank character and a speedy character. My usual team consists of dante, wolverine, and deadpool. Hope this helped

I think it is between these 4 for best characters:
Wesker, Virgil, Zero, Dante
You can afford to have 1 or 2 characters not on this list if you can find suitable team mates that work well together. -
It all depends on you..
Since my most favorite char. of the game is wesker (next being vergil), I consider him the best.
But in the normal mvc3, well, still wesker (but second being dante)..
soo... yeah.. -
Wesker... too much damage, good HP, super buffs, ridiculous combos...
seriously, pick up Wesker, go to mission mode, finish it, and go online... you'll win like every time...
Personally I use Vergil as my main.
Zero, Nova, Ryu, Strider, Captain America (recently started using him), and X-23.
But that's because Vergil is my favorite all time character EVER. And I actually like the other characters I use.
Tier don't mean crap to me... a game's meant to be fun, so pick whatever it is you like or have fun with.
Wesker may be the cheapest mother effer out there (among a long list of cheap mother effers) but that doesn't mean a well seasoned player can't win against a Wesker player.
But if you ever see a team with Wesker, Doom, and Durmamu or Ghost Rider, just walk away... -
It is by far Wesker. He doesn't have a single bad match-up in the game, can get high damage off his combos anywhere on the screen, doesn't need meter for his hypers to get his damage, he has teleports, the gun is great, his health is above average, his normals are amazing, and he works well with just about anyone.
Zero, Dormammu, Doctor Doom, Viper, and Dante are up there. Keep in mind the strength of the individual character is not as important as the synergy of the team.
