Ban the bible...

Stuff like this kills me.

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/16316628/detail.html

It was not the game. It was the kid. If the arguement is the game gave him the idea, and the desire to imitate the fatalities, well that would be a foolish defence. If that was the case, then the bible would have to be outlawed and every religion would have to dimatteled, and forgoten, as well.

Stop looking for outside reason, and start looking at the root cause - terible parrents.

CBS buys Gamespot

So CBS is buying Gamespot, but funny how it's not even in the gamespot news - no you have to get it second hand from some dumb blog...

The following is from G4:

CBS, the people who brought you Murder, She Wrote and other entertainment products, announced this morning that they have purchased CNET Networks, home of GameSpot.com, TV.com, mp3.com and other web workhorses.

CBS will make a offer for all issued and outstanding shares of CNET Networks for $11.50 per share, representing ($1.8 billion). The acquisition will make CBS one of the 10 most popular Internet companies in the United States, with a combined 54 million unique users per month, and approximately 200 million users worldwide.

CBS now owns: CNET, ZDNet, GameSpot.com, TV.com, mp3.com, CNET news.com, UrbanBaby, CHOW, Search.com, BNET, MySimon and TechRepublic.

"There are very few opportunities to acquire a profitable, growing, well-managed Internet company like CNET Networks," said Les Moonves in a statement. "CBS stands for premium content and unparalleled reach, and CNET Networks will add a tremendous platform to extend our complementary entertainment, news, sports, music and information content to a whole new global audience."

makes me ill
So Ironman the movie comes out, and is great - super flipping fantastic, even. And like most movies the machine behind them pumps out a half assed game. You know it will suck, I know it will suck, but there is this hope that it will be good, and after seeing the movie the promice of flying arround and blowing stuff up, well it seams lke a great idea. So I go and check the review, and alas, there is none. Why? Is this intentinal? Still playing GTA4 - if so get an intern to review it. Are we just slow? Did bob not work this week, and we are a little behind? Even if they didn't get an advance copy, crap like this would only take a day to play, solve, and review. It just kills me to think of all the parents that get roped into buying this turd of a game, based soly on the premice of the film, and why, well thats because the site we count on for reviews just can't seam to review the games on time..... again.

More?

Open letter to Bungie.

Well I have forked over the extra 20 for 6 new maps over the past few months... Well, so far not too bad. Lockout is the only map that just doesn't work for me, but it seams to be a popular map. Sidewinder is great dumb fun, and is the best map out of all six - the large capture the flag a neutral assault games are just nutty. All the rest are OK, nothing to be amazed about, but good none the less. But I digress...

Look what I want, and I believe that many other want as well, is all the maps from Halo 1 and 2 - even the extra content maps. No need to rework everything, that's what forge is for - right? The way I see it is that Halo 3 is one of the best games ever made, but I want it to be the best it can be, I hate it when games are broken, or missing that one thing that could push them over the edge. And I believe that "more" is the thing you need. More maps, more guns, more vehicles, more armor, more of just everything. Hell put out a lost levels pack with some of the lost single player maps - it's not all about the multiplayer (close but not all). Some of the best maps from Halo 2 are still MIA - yes, I know that this is not Halo 2, but there are so many maps and areas that could provide this game with a much deeper and richer experience than we currently have. Guns and vehicles - yes the warthog is good, but wouldn't it be fun to have a few more vehicle types? Or even the ability to put the elephant on Valhalla or Sidewinder? There is still much more that can be done with this title - my only hope is that you act quickly, before you are yesterday's news all together.

Anyone else hate to see a good game root in it's own hype?
