Money = Stuff = No Money

So I've been holding down a steady job for the past 4 or 5 months now, and that means that I have a steady flow of cash too. This is great for obvious reasons. It has led to me purchasing a brand new TV, a 40" 1080p Samsung to be more precise. This is soon to be followed by a purchase of a 360 and Orange Box, one of the games that convinced me to buy a 360.

Of course, all of this spending has led to an expected outcome. I'm basically broke, but I'm also really excited and happy. No regrets!

    Kid Icarus

Okay, so I decided that instead of talking about SSBB, like everyone else, I would talk about something related to SSBB: Kid Icarus. Having played SSBB for about 10 hours (at a friend's house... don't have a copy yet myself ), there are about three new standout characters for me, and Pit is among the top. Weaknesses aside--Pit is not really all that strong physically--Pit is awesome. Pit has a badass weapon (Sword that turns into two shorter swords that turns into a bow) and freaking wings (Pit's greatest strength in SSBB is the ability to recover from any hit that doesn't smash him off the screen). Basically, Pit's appearance in SSBB has sparked my interest in the Kid Icarus games.

Now, the Kid Icarus franchise hasn't really appeared since the gameboy days, and even then it has only had two single games--the other appearing on the NES. I, however, am still convinced that there will be a new Kid Icarus game sometime soon for the Wii. By making this into a game, many Ninty fans will feel like Nintendo is finally releasing games for the hardcore audience, and not just the same tired franchises (I love Zelda as much as any of you, but when Nintendo only has three to four real franchises, it can get stale). Sure, Kid Icarus isn't exactly a new franchise, it hasn't had a game in over 15 years; it will feel brand new to most of us.

The thing that I don't want to happen is another Zelda copycat. Pit reminds me a lot of Link, and I feel like that could be a bad thing. I don't want the game to be Zelda + flying controls. I want it to be different. If Ninty gets behind the wheel on this one, I'm sure that won't be a problem though.

Happy SSBB-ing. I'll let ya'll know when I have my own copy and we can do battle sometime
