"Just Wait"...is the shoe on the other foot?
Many people say to PS3 fanboys mocking them that they have to wait for the big titles while they are playing the big games. With the recent E3, this statement now goes toward those with baised for the Wii.
PS3 and 360 have been getting a good amount of huge name hits. Grand Theft Auto IV just came on both platforms and got a 10 here at GS. PS3 owners just got treated with MGS4, also which received a 10 here. The games are defining what we know about games and making strives toward innovation. You could argue this with Super Mario Galaxy, but the game makes hardly any use of the Nintendo's main future...motion control.
The innovation, instead of making games that push the boundries, is to make games that people unwilling to learn button controls can be able to play. For the hardcore games, Nintendo just slaps many control options to play the games, none of them really do anything different than last time. Innovation with the controller was done with Zack and Wiki, where is Nintendo's version of this game?
Now Nintendo gives us features that were already standard on the other two platforms: internet play (only one done decently was Mario Kart Wii) and voice chat (welcome to 2002). They failed to address any real issues with us Wii owners like "With Wiiware, is there a way I can hold more games?", "Is there going to be a price drop anytime soon", and "What is next in store for the big named franchises?". Instead, they tell us we should have been contented with what was shown at E3 instead of the usual "we have big things in store".
Listen, E3 was meant for gamers...not some retail store. Why invite networks like G4, GS, and IGN if this is for the retailers? They don't even need to promote the casual games, people will see Wii on the title and buy it. Casuals don't care about the quality of the gameplay because they don't know better. Anyways, if there was games on the horizon, such as the rumored Pikmin 3, he would have said something. Reggie telling G4 that AC and GTA: China Town for the DS is hardcore, that means there is nothing planned to be soon. The list Nintendo gave us was up until Summer of 2009. It might be true that Mario and Zelda is being worked on, but it is not coming anytime soon. For a game to be coming soon, it has to have screens and videos to get the gaming community excited and Nintendo obviously has none of this.
The PS3 has shown they have a big list planned for later. Resistance 2 and LittleBigPlanet is this year, while Killzone 2 and INFAMOUS is next year. We don't know much about MAG and GoW3 which will obviously be shown next year. 360 has the new Banjo on 360 and remake on XBLA. Fable 2, Too Human, and Gears 2 is coming this year, and there will be many new games planned for 2009 next E3. The third party supports PC, PS3, and 360 since many huge games are on it such as Mirror's Edge, Far Cry 2, and more.
What about the Wii? None of the huge 3rd party titles are coming out. The third party just for the Wii actually does look interesting this year. They have to make up for Nintendo's lack luster showing. Wii Sports Resort isn't even this year. All we get from them is Wario 2D (why isn't a WiiWare game...in fact where were the WiiWare games in E3?), Animal Crossing (ok game, but nothing huge), and Mario Sluggers (I already played baseball in Wii Sports...pass). This means no time near will be the new Kirby Wii game or F-Zero. They are planned for late 09...great.
Including the big release of Soul Caliber IV this month, 360 and PS3 owners will be busy with many games. Wii owners have hardly anything this summer or fall to play. They will be the ones waiting instead of the cows. So if you see a sheep, say "just wait" to him and laugh.

Please stop is Nintendo...
I don't care if you want to expand the market and such. Although what you are doing is leaving your long time fans in the dust. Sure you bring the big franchises back again, but what is the point with such a crippled online mode?
Take pokemon for example, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl was huge due to the voice chat options and having one of the best games for online to be fully functional. Sure the codes were annoying, but it is what fans wanted. What did you do to the Wii version? Kill it...in fact it crashes more often than not.
Mario Kart also. The DS version took off due to voice chat and real online play. Now with Wii version, you only support text. TEXT? *facepalm* The DS version of your franchise is better than the Wii versions. Stop protecting us Nintendo, we don't need it. Your online is weak compared to the others. In fact, Brawl online what I played made me hype it less since it was limiting.
Sony gets too harsh of critism, but they are improving their online. With home around the corner and MGS4 including online play, Sony's online is going to take off. XBL we know is a great feature, but it costs money so it is give or take. PC online is the peak of online due to it being different each game and free for the most part. So Nintendo, just stop it. If you continue this path, the DS will always be better than the Wii. You turn away hardcore gamers and go toward the moms of the family. Your plan will fail Nintendo, casuals will get bored of motion controls and you will be up the creek without a paddle. Start thinking about the long time Nintendo fans and make full functioning online.

If a Demon Could Sing (Sweeney Todd Review)
Merry Christmas all! I wanted to start off the holiday season by reviewing Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. This musical is the 5th project of Deep and Burton. Does it slice n dice or is it a dull blade?

Imagine London in the middle ages, where orphans where abused and the insane are treated worse. We see a barber who calls himself Sweeney Todd. He tells about how an evil judge, Judge Turpin, tries to steal away his wife, Lucy. He finds her friend, a meat pie maker, and plans to get rid of the judge.
Burton really creates a masterpiece of London. The places are beautiful and the main characters are easily different than the world that surrounds them. The blends of black and white show how dark the times really were. The blood, being brighter than normal blow, show how much death affects the bland world.
The singing in the movie is mostly speech rather than full blown songs. Alot of the actors are not trained to sing, but you can not tell this with some of the actor. Johanna, Sweeny's daughter, has one of the best voices I heard in a long time. Anothony Hope, a sailor that helps Sweeny, also sings beautiful voices to Johanna. Deep also has a great voice, along with alot of the actors. You won't hate the music in this film.
The characters are lovable and hatable at the same time. With Sweeney, you feel sorry for him even though you know he is killing innocent people later on the film. He starts out sane, but the judge that drives him crazy. Judge Turpin is also played by the same actor that played Snape in the Harry Potter films. The role of the mean judge works for him. You will want Sweeney to kill him due to how he treats Johanna and Anthony. The friend, Neille Lovett, is a strange, but likeable character. You will see her try to fall in love with Todd. Many other characters show up in the film, and the cast is all fantastic... it is hard to find a character that acts bad in the film.
The humor is also funny. The elixer compared to piss will make anyone laugh. There are also other points as the young assistant getting picked on and the pies being nasty adding to the humor of the darkness. You are sure to smile at the attempts at humor.
The only complaint that this film has is the excess of the gore. The blood might looks cartoonish, but the amount of blood by cutting the neck is to the point where it is unrealistic. For me, this made the effects of the killing more effective. Other people, however, don't like this point.
Sweeney Todd might be a demon barber. Although, you will love this demon. He shows how a man can become so obsessed with revenge his mind becomes cluttered. The side story with Anthony Hope and Johanna is also touching. It throws a Romeo and Juliet element to this horror play. These parts also have the best singing parts on top of this. This film is one of those films you have to see this year, if the only film you see in 2007. The ending is also very well done. It is not the typical ending and it does not sell out. This demon feels more like a saving grace of movies.
