Bwags' July Game of the Month!

After playing a minimal 6 games last month, here's what I thought -

6)Fight Night Round 4I don't know why, but this game didn't do it for me. I guess punches were mapped to the face buttons AND analog stick, I would have enjoyed it more. In addition, this game grew repetitive, especially in career mode. Bwags rating - 7

5)PrototypeI enjoyed this game in the beginning. New York looks amazing, even during a infectious outbreak, and playing an anti-hero who can do whatever the **** he wants is certainly worth the price of admission; however, I fail to see how a man who is touted as being virtually indestructable is constantly being taken down by bullets and tank blasts. Sometimes you're so weak, the only choice is to run. Throw in some frustrating challenges and two lame, anti-climactic boss battles (really?! I beat the last boss by throwing things at him?!) and you have a game that makes a great first impression, but lets you walk away frustrated and feeling cheated. Bwags rating - 7.5

4)Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen BoxshotFor a movie game, this one does a lot right. It doesn't hold to the movie plot, which isn't suprising considering most movie-games rarely do,but the game features two playable campaigns, Autobot and Decepticon, each hosting a variety of playable characters. Learning how to switch back and forth from automobile from to biped form takes a little practice, but once you get the hang of it you'll really enjoy this game. Each campaign mission is a time-trial, and completing certain missions in certain times will give you credits for upgrades and unlock bonus features such as concept art and saturday morning cartoons. There's a lot in this game that will keep you coming back, and despite its steep learning curve, you can't go wrong with this one. Bwags rating - 8.0

3)LittleBigPlanet BoxshotThis game is delightful. Sackboys are adorable and watching them parade through mission is a real joy. I could bore you with pages of the possibilities in this game, but you've heard it all before, so suffice it to say that this game lives up to the hype. My one gripe with this game is that it is made to be enjoyed in a multiplayer setting, so unless you have a lot of friends or are comfortable playing with people you don't know, you might be a little disappointed with this one. Bwags rating - 8.0

    2) Legends of WrestlemaniaLONG LIVE THE GLORY DAYS OF WRESTLING! This game is so much fun! I love the Relive, Re-write, Redefine mode, and the movies they play before the match are a really treat. The hunt for gold medals will keep you playing and re-playing levels, aiming to perfectly replicate these matches. Once you're done there, you can create your own legend, or import a created superstar from Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 and take them up the ladder in the legend killer mode. In legend killer, you must defeat a certain tier of superstars in order to advance (I must warn you, one tier consists of 34 guys, so prepare yourself). Overall, the game is a fun stroll down memory lane. Bwags rating - 8.0

    1) Ghostbusters The Video GameWho ya gonna call?! GHOSTBUSTERS! This game takes me back to my youth! Playing as a new recuit, you join the gang as they set out to make new york ghost free. Featuring a new storyline written by Dan Ackroyd and Harold Ramis, this game is a must play for...well, everyone! Bwags rating - 8.5

    I love UFC 2009!

Anyone who has not played this demo yet should definitly download it now and enjoy the slugfest! I had so much fun laying out Chuck Lidell and really putting the fists to his face. The game looks great, and, although there is a steep learning curve, it plays extremely well. It's still a little rough around the edges, but this looks to be the best MMA fighting game to date!

Madden NFL 2010 Cover Athletes Announced!

EaSports announced today that Troy Polomalu and Larry Fitzgerald will BOTH grace the cover of Madden NFL 10. This is the first time in 21 years that two athletes have simultaniously been on the cover, and Ican't think oftwo more deserving players. Congrats to both!

Here's hoping my beloved Saints don't f*** up the draft...
