    Gamers?

    Gamers confuse me....
I consider myself a gamer, I have been playing games since i was a young boy. Hell some of my earliest memories are play Star Fox on the 64, and i love and defend this hobby to death. But in recent times I am become very confused with the state of gamers on the internet. What brings these thoughts up is the recent release of the reboot of the Devil May Cry series, a game i personally love and, is one of the best in this whole series . Now the hate and bad press around this game from gamers, confounds me, and what upsets me is the total lack of open mindedness and understanding that has seem to have creeped into the gamer community. Firstly from the reaction that DmC has, it seems like gamers fear and hate change, if you go on the majority of YouTube videos on this game you will find that the dislike and like bar and usually split 50/50 on most videos. From reading the comments what most people are complaining about is the the game has dared to be different from the other games in this series. Such things as Dragon Age 2 and especially Mass Effects 3 ending (actually anything Bioware has put out recently) have been hit hard by this close mindedness. The Mass Effect 3 ending was fine it was not perfect, but it was not so earth shattering bad as some people would like you to believe, and it seems like this mindset that the ending wrecks the whole game has spread through out everything this company does, with many friends i have talked to saying they would not play the third Mass Effect game because of all the negativity over the games ending, which is where things get sad, when people will never experience something as amazing as the Thrid Mass Effect because of our own close mindedness and fear, and boy do gamers hold a grudge.

Which brings us to Call of Duty which in recent times has been picked at for not having enough change. This brings me to the assumption that every time a new Call of Duty comes out its sales would go down. That is not what happens, each passing year the sales of this game go up. Breaking all manner of records, along they way. Which brings back the assumption that we as gamers don't in fact like change, sure we say we don,'t but sometimes i wish there was evidence apart from harsh words to prove it.

OK i think i got sidetracked, time to wrap up this rant, so my main question is are gamers or in fact internet users scared of change, or do they want change because i keep getting mixes signals over whether we as game community welcome new things or not.
