    Notification of TOS Violation

This message is to confirm that the user, Egonga, has been Moderated for the following reason:

During a legitimate discussion in OT regarding the length of John McCain's "junk" and the possible implications of this on the US elections, the user in question, Egonga, entered the thread and used the word "Swiggins" with reckless abandon. As this word violates the Gamespot TOS, I sent a private message to Egonga requesting him to stop such violations. He then replied with a private message containing the word "Swiggins" 267 times, followed by a futher private message with another two "Swiggins" and a "Jaffa Cake" added to the end of it.

The following action has been taken:

    • 3-day Ban
    • Deduction of level by 30%
    • Used as a punching bag by the Gamespot Administrators for 20 minutes

    Thank you,
    Gamespot.

    Optimism vs Pessimism

The optimist says the glass is half full.
The pessimist says the glass is half empty.

We know that. However, what if you were to spill that glass?

The optimist would say that it was half empty anyway.
The pessimist would say "Oi! That was half full!"

NEVER let "them" program your way of thinking, because in some situations "they" are going to be wrong *taps nose three times*

    Smelly storeroom

I tend not to vent much in this bloggo, as venting in online blogs leads to Gothness - or are they called emu's nowadays? I don't think Rod Hull would approve. Anyway, VENT BLOG!

At work we have this horrible little storeroom where we keep olde work. It hasn't any windows, no ventilation and just a tiny little yellow lightbulb for the whole place. One of my minor tasks is to get in touch with the people from archive whenever somebody gets a box of old work from the storeroom, and I arrange a pickup for the box. Somehow my manager interpreted this differently, and he's working under the apprehension that somehow the entire storeroom is my responsibility.

Couple months ago, during the high heat of summer, he asked me to get a record of every single folder, box or item kept in the storeroom so that we could all have a good old clear out. For four hours I baked in there, rummaging through dusty shelves, tatty eight year old folders, jumping at every strange little scratchy sound that I hope to God was paper moving against other papers. In the end I had a list of every single damned thing in that damnable room - he told me, vaguely, to put it up somewhere where people can see it. It was tempting to suggest stapling it to his forehead.

So I went in there today to pick something up from the stores cupboard, and the room is an absolute shambles. Workmen were in a couple of weeks ago to re-do some electrics coming through the ceiling. Three of the shelves are buckled where the idiots used them are stairs, large portions of the ceiling are missing and, for some bizarre reason, a trolley full of printer cartridges has been abandoned in there then spread across the floor. There's paper and plastic everywhere... I only hope my manager doesn't see it and get the idea that I clean the mess up.

Let's end 'er on a high note! In the storeroom are a great number of boxes. Which of the following should I attempt:

    1) Building a box fort
    2) Build a cardboard robot
    3) Other (please specify)
