Some CoD:WaW Admins are Out of Control

Note: Below is my opinion and not that of Gamespot. It is a bit of a vent of some bad times had while playing CoD:WaW (PC)online.

Here's the story. My son and I have played computer games online since he was about 12. If there is an online team element, then we have probably played it. Of late, we have been playing a lot of CoD:WaW online. We particularly like finding the "tactical" servers that require that you not just run and gun all the time. I know, I know a lot of people don't like those but that has been our preference of late. Anyway, this evening we were playing on eXo's/TDM/noscope server. We particularly liked it because there was almost always an admin online and they enforced the rules. They always warned players first and then if the offending player did not comply they would kick them. And herein goes the proplem. On this particular night the Admin broadcast over ingame TEAM voice something about if me and my son were using Teamspeak that we should drop out of the game as they do not approve of "ghosting".

First of all, I did not know what ghosting even refered to until I did some asking around. Apparently ghosting has to do with one player on one team telling a player on the other team whereplayers were on the map. Ok fine. I can see where that is a problem. The only thing is my son and I were not doing anything like that. We were using TeamSpeak but not for anything game related if we were on opposite teams. I think what had happened was that two of my team and I were advancing down a path...crawling...with me in the back of the front two. My son happened to pop up and shoot those front two and I ended up shooting my son. It was within 30 seconds I got that "ghosting" warning over the in game voice team broadcast. I wasn't doing anything so I didn't say anything in return and just continued to play. No additional warning. inI I decided maybe I should avoid my son so I just stayed back. As it happened I shot my son two more times even while laying back. About that time, both my son and I were then banned from the server.

Ok, I understand that it is not our server and they can run it any way they want. However, it irks me that some admins seem to take it above and beyond what seems fair at times. I am sure that others have had similar things happen on other servers so I know I am not alone. I think that some admins listen to other players just a bit too easily. In this case, my son had lead the sever in total score a number of rounds. I think that people don't like that and "assume" he is cheating, which he is not. But, Admins just make extremely quick decisions based off of what others tell them and not looking at the facts. In this case, if they would have been watching the scroll of people being killed they would have seen that my son and I kill each other (my son kills me more but that is because he is better....don't tell him I said that .

This is why I am always a little unsure of playing in public servers. I hate it when someone's honesty is quesitoned in real life without the opprotunity to defend one's self. Anyway, the ban is for 60 hours. I will return to this server and will confront the admin. I really don't care if I get banned again or not from that server.
