Playstation 3 Firmware 3.00 Bugs and GameSave Locking

    I am having a Bad PS3 Week.

1st My Original 60 Gig PS3 went Flashing Red Light On Me. I bought a Slim as I was Planning on getting a Second one for my Upstairs TV anyways. So I am Using that While the 60 Goes in for Repair.

I heard there is a Good chance I will not get that PS3 Back. So I am gonna lose all my GameSaves...

So onto my Slim and Firmware 3.00
    - I hate that you cannot Pop another PS3 Harddrive in and have it work. That is DUMB.
    - I hate Locking Savefiles so people cannot get Trophies. I like getting Trophies, but I was a Booty Master & Ace a Few Levels away from a Platinum on LBP. On Killzone2 I Just Needed to Finish playing Through on the Hardest Level and Get the No Deaths for Platinum on that too. Now I have to Start Over... Plus in Little Big Planet I Couldn't Edit one of my Own Levels because I didn't Have a God of War Map Pack that I actually had... Not to Mention that I have to Unlock all my Costume stuff again.

    - Why, Why, Why, can't I move my Hard Drive over to the Slim. Why if my Old System Gets Replaced can't I put the Old Hard Drive In and Not Have to Format??? Is this to Protect against Piracy??? Why Punish Your Loyal Paying Customers to Stop a Few Moders and Hackers??? Sure there is A Backup Utility but That Takes HOURS when You keep a lot on your PS3. So do you think Many will Use it at regular Intervals. Sony Needs to Consider a Gamesave Only Backup Option, either to External Memory or to Online Storage. Perhaps the Online Storage could be configure for Automatic at Night Time.

    - Allow Moving Hard Drives from PS3 to PS3.
    - Make a GameSave Backup/Restore Utility

EA Charging to Fix Broken Franchise Scouts

I have to protest the New Madden NFL 2010.

I saw the DLC they have and it seems ridiculous to have to pay for LB Scouts, DB Scouts, Play through the Pain, etc.

This seems as if they dummed down the Franchise AI so they can charge you to fix it. As if they took out something from Madden 09 so they can charge for it in DLC form in Madden 10.

I realize everyone would love to make the kind of money that Call of Duty World at War is making from their DLC. Media Molecule seems to be doing pretty well with their DLC, because I personally love buying new costumes for my SackBoy. However, the Madden DLC seems like a Slap in the Face.

Now my Ideal DLC for Madden I think would sell a TON. How many people would pay for DLC of their Favorite Retired Players? If EA was to add Legends as DLC they would have a winner in my opinion.

Could You Imagine if we could download Legends and recruit them to our Team.
Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Walter Payton, Joe Montana, Emmitt Smith, Mean Joe Green, Lynn Swann, Terry Bradshaw, Troy Aikman, Jim Brown, Brett Favre, Joey Harrington (Thats a joke... I'm an unfortunate Lion Fan), John Elway, Dan Marino, Deion Sanders, Reggie White, Lawrence Taylor, Johnny Unitas, Roger Staubach, Dick Butkus... etc. etc.

That is some DLC I would definitely pony up for.

How much would you pay for DLC Legends?
Who would you want to see as DLC for Madden?

Split-Screen and Co-Op, Why the Wii is so Popluar.

Some Real thought should be give to the Modes of Split-Screen and Co-Op available in Games.

There is a Distinction that must be made between "Real Friends" and "Online Friends"
Consider the Success of the Wii. Many have there Theories Why.
The Reason I believe is the Inclusion of the "Real Friend" Factor. Not the "Casual" Gamer is a New Audience.
Consider the Fact that the XBox360 is Now Cheaper than the Wii and STILL being outsold by the Wii.
Consider the Popularity of Halo3. This game allows 4 Players Split-Screen (Local and Online) (2 Players Co-Op in the Main Campaign)

    Example 1
My Son has Friends over after School. Their Gaming Choices are Limited to what will support 2 to 4 Players.
Hence the Heavy amounts of Halo3 followed by Warhawk 2nd
    Example 2
We go to a Friends or have them over. There are 4 adults and 4 children.
That Number 4 comes up a lot.
Hence the Heavy amounts of Wii Play, and Thankfully the Recent Addition of Little Big Planet.
    Example 3
I am at Gamestop listening to a young teenage boy and his mother trying to find out what game he can buy that he can play with more than 1 friend.
No Games List this very well. I think the boxes should say ( Players 1-4 SplitScreen, 1-4 Online Co-Op, 32 MultiPlayer)

Another Point here is being able to Progress in a Game with Multiple Playstation or XBox Live IDs.
Little Big Planet is the 1st that Allows this. My Wife, Son, Daughter and I can all Progress our Sticker/Costume Collection Together.
Resistance 2 is the Example of the Wrong way.
Me and my Son wish to Split-Screen through the Co-Op, Only 1 Player gets to Progress his Character.
If it was implemented similar to Little Big Planet we could Progress our Character Classes from either Login ID.

I believe More consideration should be given to the "Real Friend" Crowd.
Also consider that Most people on these Forums Represent a "Skewed" Representation of 1 type of opinion, that is the Hardcore.
The little boy I spoke of at Gamestop is not going to Blog away on many forums.
I speak for the rest of us. The people hunting down Wii Consoles.
The People with more "Real Friends" than "Online Friends"

Update - A Great Site for Finding Co-Op Games is http://www.co-optimus.com/
