Getting orange with The Orange Box
I know.. stupid title but hey, The Orange Box is just awesome. The amount of entertainment you get from the box is just incredible. It has to be the most value for the money you'll get this year easily. Enough of that though, it's the games that are important right? Below is the impressions of my first hours with each game.
Portal
The first game I played and although it was short it was so good. After reading and hearing from various podcasts about how awesome it was I had pretty high expectations for it and I sure wasn't disappointed. Well, while I was playing through the first levels I I thought I'd knew how the rest of the game would turn out but I was surprised at how it changed around the middle of the game.
Anyway, enough of that. The game is awesome and something you shouldn't miss if you're a fan of puzzles.
Half-Life 2
Half-Life wasn't a game I really liked and something I bought just to be able to play Counter-Strike. I've tried to play it through a few times but has lost interest a few hours in. That's also the reason why I have avoided Half-Life 2 but now with the Orange Box I'd might as well give it a try.
And surprising enough I'm actually enjoying playing it. I haven't gotten half-way into to the game yet but will soon and I regret not picking this up earlier.
Team Fortress 2
I never played the original since it was all about Counter-Strike back then. But now I felt I had to try this out since I've grown tired of Counter-Strike. Been playing this game the most of the games included in the box and I am really stuck with it. Love the art-****and the different gameplay mechanics.
It's the most fun I've had in a multiplayer game for ages and something I will keep playing a lot.
Conclusion
I haven't played episode 1 or 2 yet for obvious reasons but if Half-Life 2 is any indication I'm going to like those games a lot of as well.
All in all, The Orange Box is awesome and really a great game package that I think anyone with some interest in FPS games will find enjoyable.

So I finally decided to pick up RE4...
I've never been a fan of horror games. I used to own the original RE but never managed to get past the start area because I was scared playing it (was a looong time ago now). I still remember the first zombie you encounter and this short clip start to roll where he turns his head slowly around while chewing on a dead body.
So it's with these memories I finally decided to go buy RE4: Wii Edition, a game I've never played before but is said to be one of last gens greatest games. Although I've only been playing it for like 1½ hours I'm really impressed by how it is. I'm not even close to get the same feelings I had playing the original RE and it's something I prefer greatly.
So yeah.. Guess I'll be going back to the game now..

My E3 thoughts
So E3 is just around the corner and I'm as excited as always. I haven't bought any of the new-gen consoles yet because I'm kind of waiting and see what will happen this E3. I will probably buy the Wii later this year because of the games that will be released this year. I've always had a Nintwiwendo console and it's these games I've come to love over the years.
The real battle however doesn't involve the Wii since it has taken it's own path. No. I'm talking about the PS3/X360 battle. These two are kind of fighting each other for the same audience and it will be very interesting to see how it turns out for both consoles this E3. Sony and Microsoft really must come out and show who's the better console for a gamer with what's most important, games! I don't care about the features that doesn't involve gaming because I buy a console to play games on and that's it.
So what about the games then?
X360 has had a head start which you can tell easily by the number of games etc. But quite frankly, a lot of the games that I want to play on the 360 have I already played on the PC. Overall I must say that the 360 has some quality titles that I want to play and more to come. But I feel like I need to see more. The PS3 on the other hand as a lot to prove game-wise. We have seen a couple of games like Uncharted already which looks promising but they have to show more! Games like MGS4 and FF13 are sure to be big selling games that boosts the PS3 sales as well. Those 2 and a few others are games I really want to play as well. A lot of talk about the Cell processor and what it is capable of has been shown a lot but we have yet to see a game that truly takes advantage over it.
For me both Sony and Microsoft must show some more reasons why I should buy their consoles over the other. Right now there are lot of multiplat titles that I even can play om my PC. Some games have been shown but as I said, give me more!
And then we have the PC
For me the PC has been the major game platform for about 4-5 years now probably. So what type of games do I want to see this E3 for the PC?I have played a lot of World of Warcraft over the last 2 years. I haven't played it for some months now but thoughts about picking it up again has started come more and more often. But what I really want to see from this E3 is either a new expansion for World of Warcraft that introduces something new and not more of the same or a new MMO all together. I'd love to try out some MMOFPS game and I'm looking forward to see how Huxley turns out but we haven't seen a lot about that game.
Then we have the RTS genre and me personally would love a new Warcraft RTS but I'm very excited about Starcraft 2 as well. I have always loved the way Blizzard does RTS games and Starcraft 2 looks very promising. I'd love to see some sort of expansion for C&C3 as well or a major update.
Finally the big N
Something that really annoys me with Nintendo is that they keep everything in the dark for so long before the show any info. They are supposed to show some new games for the first time this E3 which I'm looking forward to. The Wii really must get a lot of new games, good games that is. I hope they announce some sort of harddrive or something similar to store games on because that's something the Wii really needs. Maybe we will be shown a new controller instead of the nunchuck. Then there is the DS. Phoenix Wright 3 translated and a release date would be nice. I'd love to see some new platforming games as well as some unexpected ones. As long as it's not more of the brain training games.
Overall I'm really looking forward to E3 and I hope I will get gladly surprised a lot of times.
