Unlike my favourite album list, I'll be posting my favourite songs by date of release. So, I'll be starting from their first album to their third. Iron Maiden- The Number of the Beast. Killers isn't on here because there's no songs that I think should make the list.
!THIS ISN'T MY FAVOURITE SONGS IN ORDER, JUST IN DATE ORDER!
20) Prowler
From their first album, many songs became on the charts like: Phantom of the Opera and Transylvania. For me, no song beats Prowler. The voice is Paul Di'Anno and he brought a very light rock feeling to the album which really was some of their best work. Better than Blaze Bailey anyway.
19) Iron Maiden
Yep, their self-titled album had a self-titled song and this song usually introduces the band during live events. Again, Di'Anno does a great job with this song and argubly this is their signature song.
1
Run To The Hills
On the Number of the Beast album, Run To The Hills became hugely popular and was always included in their live events. For me, this song isn't the very best but it is in the catagory of legendary songs like: The Trooper, Hallowed Be Thy Name and The Number of the Beast. Defiantely a song that shouldn't be missing from any Iron Maiden compliation albums.
17) The Number of the Beast
My most favourite Maiden song and the band's signature song (to me) and the best lyrics and guitar solos ever. A song that follows a man who watches Satanists and ultimately joins them, with the pure almost Satanic voice of Dickinson who fires his voice into oblivion for this song. Truly an amazing song.
16) Hallowed Be Thy Name
At first listen through, I didn't think much of it. A few more times I loved it and it has great lyrics and one of the best stories in a song. A man who is about to be hung and reflects his feelings and thoughts. At the end of the guitar riff, he yells "Hallowed Be Thy Name" before being executed. It's quite a fast song in some ways but it has a slow start. Then picks up as the song progresses. With those three songs on one album, The Number of the Beast is my most favourite album by Iron Maiden.
Next time I'll be listing songs from the albums: Piece of Mind and Powerslave.
And it's great! My plan was to get one at GameStation but they only had ones with bundles with games I didn't want for £234 or something like that. So, went down to Argos and picked one up for £200, yes the full system. They gave me five best sellers for no extra price which were: Viva Pinata, Project Gotham Racing 3, Fusion Frenzy, Arcade games and Kameo: The somthing of Power, I dunno. I then went to GameStation again to pick up to games for the price of one game (£40). I got Condemned 2: Bloodshot and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I was going to get Condemned 2 and GTA IV but GTA IV wasn't in the deal for two games for the price of one. I'd rather have two games than just the one. My brother says he'll give me any of his games to play and he has GTA IV!
Condemned 2 is pretty hard but really creepy and is scaring the s**t out of me. RSV2 is awesome and I'm on the fourth mission I think (the Convention Centre). Pretty challenging.
That's all.
Tommorow I'll be going down to GameStation to pick up a premium Xbox 360 bundle with two selected games my choice for £234.89. Pretty good price for that. My games will be GTA IV and Condemned 2: Bloodshot. I'll be posting about my GTA IV experiance sometime and I've got a whole list of blogs to do:
-Top 20 actors
-Favourite Iron Maiden songs
-GTA IV
-List of Xbox 360 games to get
Bye.
School's done, in August I'll be getting my exam results and I've got about two months off doing nothing. Very bored. Gonna get a job and also this week I'll be getting my Xbox 360.
Reviews
Why I haven't reviewed a game in almost a year. GS have completely bollocked their reviewing system. Now, they're giving out 10s it seems every month. I don't know why they've decided to rate games in 5s but it's an awful system. I prefered it where you tally the "gameplay", "graphics" and "sound" etc and you'll have a score automatically, instead of rating it in 5s. To me, you should never give a game a 10 if it's got anything in "the bad" section. Especially if it talks about the AI or something. Is 2.5 really that bad of a score? I will start reviewing games again but this is just really bugging me. Gears of War 2 will most probably get a 10 but, who knows. I don't.
Other GS related stuff
They're tournaments on Tournament TV are crap too, no more humour from Gerstmamm sp?) or Gallup (sp?). The COD4 tournament was boring as hell. Annoying.
Ah forget it.
Finally, the finale of my countdown of favourite music bands. Right, two left.
2) Rise Against
I first time I heard Rise Against is when I played Tony Hawk's Underground and heard "Like The Angel" but in the game they put "angels". Then, the next time I heard them (when I was into music) is when WWE used the song, "Drones" (my personal favourite) for the 2007 Royal Rumble. There's a load of very strong reasons why these guys are my second most favourite band ever. One, the fact that Rise Against are very passionate about global and animal issues today. All the members of the band are strict vegetarians and vegans and Rise Against are alongside with PETA (animal rights company). Their music is hard rock or alternative rock and the lead singer, Tim Mcilrath can sing calmly (most noticeable in the songs: "Swing Life Away" and "Roadside") and can sing in all-out scream. Their working on their fifth studio album which has not yet been named. They're recording it in the Blasting Room in Colarado and it's due to be released in late 2008 or early 2009. Tim Mcllrath in my opinion has the greatest natural voice in music history (next to Bruce Dickinson) and he talks the way he sings. At tours, he hands out flyers and books about PETA to support PETA and help spread the word to save animals from global issues (like the dolphins stranded in a creek recently) and any other kind of unlawful animal activity. Rise Against are also in connection with Vans Shoes as well. The biggest example of their seriousness for animal rights and global warming can be seen in their music video for their song "Ready To Fall", at first I thought it would be about suicide but it's about global warming and animal cruelty. There's an uncut version but it's got clips of animals in all sorts of pain and I can't watch it. So, in a nutshell, Rise Against are, well, brilliant. My favourite song is: "Drones" and "Like The Angel".

1) Iron Maiden
If you read my blog about Maiden a few blogs back here then you'll see how much I adore and love this band. So, I won't type much here but my most favourite and very first song I heard is "The Number of the Beast" and I heard that when playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4. Also, some great news from the band, when they were touring for their Somewhere Back In Time Tour 2008 they said they will be busy recording a new album very soon. These guys are about in their fifties and they're still going on. No matter how old they are, they'll live on forever as the greatest band to come out of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal Music and the world. UP THE IRONS!

No nonsense here, let's get to straight to it.
5) Bruce Dickinson
The vocalist to British heavy metal band, Iron Maiden began his solo career in 1990 with Tatooed Millionaire. Guitarist for Iron Maiden, Adrian helped him out to produce a few of his albums and Bruce Dickinson as a solo vocalist is good but he is so much better with the Iron's. His music certainly didn't have the same effect as his work with Maiden did but he still sounds as good as he ever could (as a voice). Ultimately, Bruce Dickinson stopped in 2005 with Tyranny of Souls and released his compliation before his last album. Bruce Dickinson also does some TV work like flying an A320 plane on the Discovery Channel and investigating spontaneus (sp?) combustion on Sky One. Bruce is also an airline pilot for British Airways (I think it's BA...). As a whole, Bruce Dickinson is someone I admire and he is truly a singing legend.

4) The Offspring
The very first band I got into, a punk rock band who are still going on today. On June 17th, their new album, Rise & Fall, Rage & Grace will be released. My favourite songs by them are: "All I Want", "Pretty Fly (For A While Guy), "Million Miles Away", "End of the Line" and "Hammerhead". Dunno what else to say really but they really are awesome and one of the best punk rock bands out there.

3) Foo Fighters
First time I heard these guys was Kerrang! where I heard "All My Life", "Break Out", "Times Like These", "Big Me", "Monkey Wrench" and "Learn To Fly". Their very best album in my opinion is In Your Honour and, what can I say, awesomness. David Grohl (lead singer) can do both calm music with accusitic guitars and loud hard rock music with electric guitars. He'd usually be in front-centre with a guitar in two hands and singing on a fixed microphone. Their latest album is a mix of rock and calm music but it's still great. I see a great future for the band and no matter what anyone says, they're insane and I'll never get bored of 'em.
