    Metal Gear Solid 4....wow...

Just light night I finished Metal Gear Solid 4 and holy crap, I can see why it's the 2008 Game of the Year, the final act was just incredible and the story was freakin' amazing, I've played some pretty awesome titles but this puts them to sleep, guess every great series doesn't need to be a trilogy.

So expect a review soon, but the only down side is that the series is finished, well the current story arc, so maybe they'll make a new story arc that'll surely be good as the last one. Good job Konami. If you're mixed on MGS4, than try playing to the final act, everything shines in that act and it ends on a really good note, there's almost no opening for a cliffhanger, but I'm sure something will come up oh, and if you've played MGS2 and hated Raiden, well he's awesome in this one...but I'm sure most of you have played MGS4 and already have writeen reviews or returned to the rental store, hahahaha.

    Three historical moments

I never expected 2008 to be full of surprises, but I was wrong and I ended up witnessing history in hte making, three historical events that even my family never exected to happen. So let's reqind hte clock back to June '08

What happened here? Well, in June '08, the Canadian Government and its four ever so fighting parties (Conservatives, Liberals, NDP and Bloc Quebec) did the unthinkable...they apologized to the Native People of Canada, so why is this memorable? Well, see it through my perspective, learning about the Residential Schools, how so many Native children were just....taken away from their parents to be 'educated' on living in the-sorry if this sounds a little racy-white world. Imagine, watching your son, daughter, brother, sister being ripped from your parents arms as they begged the police to give them back, only to be threatened with jail time if they persist and that's just the beginning, the same children were abused in many ways while in these schools, yes some may say its not all bad, but speak for those who lived through those long dark years and are still haunted by those memories. My dad and mom had to go through that and out of respect, I don't pester them with questions, why? I'll never understand, I'll never know what happened and I like to keep it that way. So back to why? Well, the Liberals were the ones who created the whole Residential School thing and in June '08, Prime Minister Harper and other party leaders, with a small group of residential school survivors and hundreds or even thousands, maybe millions, witnessed the apology....maybe this was a sign of things to come and I take it as a sign, I mean, that's where the next historical moment lies ahead.

Nov. '08, oh yeah, everyone's surely going to remember this one, so I'll combine Jan. '09 as well, ready? President Barack Obama, the first African-American president, you don't need me explaining why this is big, but from a minorities' point of view, it shows that there's not limits or obstacles when it comes reaching the top of the ladder, you may stumble and even fall, but in the end, once you reach the top, you've proven to many that, and I'm sure this as cheesy as it looks, anything's possible, you just need to push yourself. Seeing Obama taking the vow was something I'm sure many from the 1950s and 60s are proud to see, hell I'm proud of what I saw and I'll never forget what happened in the start of 2009.

So there you have it, three historical events in just under six months, will there be more? Hey, this lifetime just got interesting, but will it be good or bad, who knows, we'll just have to wait and see.

    11th of November

    Hello out there

Well, as you tell, I'm just going to talk about the 11th of November, the day we should take the time to remember those who have sacrificed a lot for peace and whatnot. I guess this day has a bit more meaning to me than it did before, I got two sisters in the Canadian forces and various relatives who fought in wars as far back as World War I, but is that any different from everyone else? Not really, though I'm Native American (Aboriginal, Indian, whatever), though we didn't earn fame like the Navajo did, compared to the days of old and today, it's a bit different.

Don't get me wrong, recognizing veterans is something not even Bush or Harper or Amadida-what's his name again or Putin should ignore, the fact that if their soldiers didn't fight the wars for them, they'll never have their positions or even a country to lead in the first place. In the past, the Natives weren't totally recognized for their actions, but a few were and their names slowly have become forgetten, but today, I was impressed that my sisters were actually being shown on a TV program called Reservation Soldiers, a documentary that shows the Natives involvement in the Canadian Army, the fact that two sisters were in the same army caught some attention.

I for one am proud of this achievement, considering many teenagers from the reservations choose a life of drugs, drinking and such, but seeing that some are trying to change their lives around is something I tend to take pride of. Yes, Rememberance Day has a whole new meaning for me, but like many, I won't forget the sacrifices many have made for peace and their families.
