    Blog #193-We are ODST

Hey everyone, I thoughy I'd make a new blog since I haven't done one in awhile. Anyway, I just picked up Halo 3: ODST a few hours ago after watching the video review on here. It looks like a solid game and even though the FireFight mode isn't something completely new, it does look like a ton of fun. I will probably play some FireFight after I finish Dead Space.

Also, I'm usually against trading in games, but since I'm in College and don't have a job, I can't just go out and buy games like I used to. I went into EB Games yesterday and I traded in a bunch of games and picked up Need fo Speed: Shift and Battlefield Bad Company. NFS:S looks pretty sick and I've been wanting a new racing game for a long time. I used to have Battlefield Bad Company for PS3 back when I had a PS3 and loved it, so I figured I'd pick it up for $19.99 CDN.

Furthermore, I couldn't find a new copy of Beautiful Katamari for Xbox 360, which I've been wanting for a long time, so my friend in Calgary found a used copy that it's in pretty good condition so he bought it for me and sent it to my Mom and Step-Dad's house. My girlfriend is coming up to visit me at College for the weekend, so she will be bringing up Beautiful Katamari for me. She also bought me Left4Dead today for Xbox 360 because I can't find a new copy of it around here where I live. In case you guys are wondering why I just wouldn't buy a used copy, I refuse to buy used games. I like the idea of opening up a sealed copy of a game and I take extremely good care of my games and I can't stand the sight of used games that are all scratched up. I don't even buy the "last copy" at EB Games / Gamestop either. If you guys are also wondering why I'm getting a used copy for Beautiful Katamari, it's because my friend bought it for me since he knew I really wanted it and he spent the money to buy it for me (I don't have to pay him back) and he paid for the shipping.

Anyway, I have to go study because I have 3 tests next week. Take care and game on!

    Blog #192-Welcome to the Madhouse!

I was just browsing games on Future Shop and Best Buy about 30 mins ago and I saw and advertisement for Batman: Arkham Asylum. When I clicked on the advertisement I noticed the price was $38.83 CDN for only 3 days (August 25-27). I watched the video review here on Gamespot and it looks like an amazing game. I figured for that price I would spoil myself and purchase it.

On another note, I'm moving to Brampton, Ontario, Canada (I currently live in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada) on Sunday. I'm going back to College to study Private Investigation, which I'm extremely excited for. Classes start on Wednesday, September 9th, so I will have just over a week to get settled in my apartment. The reason why I'm moving to Brampton instead of just staying home and driving everyday, is exactly for that reason, driving. I don't want to drive for about an hour everyday for school (except Tuesday since I get it off) there and back. I would waste so much gas doing that and it's just not something I want to do.

Anyway, that is it for this blog. I know some of you in the States and other countries have started College / University already, and I wish you the best of luck.

    Game on!

    30,000 Gamerscore and Other Stuff

Woohoo! I just hit 30,000 gamerscore yesterday thanks to "DiRT". I never knew those little achievements could be so much fun to get. Some of them have been really frustrating (Mile High Club), but others have been really fun to get.

On another note, I bought a 1400 MS Points card the other day so I can purchase the Dark Corners DLC for Gears of War 2. So far, I got the Flashback Maps with the purchase of a new copy of Gears of War 2, which I got on launch day with some friends. I was second in line and was soaked from all the rain / snow in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada for just over 2 hours. I also bought the Combustible and Snowblind Map Packs awhile back and now I'm stoked to get the 7 new maps and the 'Road to Ruin' Deleted Campaign Chapter.

Also, I'm sitting here waiting for my new laptop to arrive. I received a call from Purolator the other day and the laptop is supposed to be here today between 9:00am and 5:00pm. I've been up since 8:50am and it hasn't arrived yet. Oh well, I'm sure it will get here soon. I bought a Dell New Studio 15 which has an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor running at 2.66 GHz, 8 GB of ram, 320 GB hard-drive, 512 MB video card, and a bunch of other stuff. I needed a good laptop for College in September so I spoiled myself a little bit haha.

Anyway, that's it for now. Thanks for reading if you did and leave some feedback if you please. Take care and game on!

    -Eric
