  Review | Air Traffic Controller

  I Am An Air Traffic Controller is an air traffic controller simulation game for Nintendo DS. The game requires the player to take control of an airport control tower for a period. During this period the player needs to achieve a certain score based on orders given to planes and safe take offs and landings. The game has a total of 15 challenges.

  The airports are all 5 international and domestic Japanese airports, which are:

  • Fukuoka Airport
  • Kansai International Airport
  • Chubu Centrair International Airport
  • Tokyo International Airport
  • New Chitose Airport

  Personally I have always enjoyed and had interest in sim games; and was keen to see what this game was all about. Firstly each airport has to be individually unlocked by completing the three skill levels associated with each airport.

  Although the game play is consistent, each airport and skill level applies different attributes and variable to keep you thinking. In 2008 Gamespot awarded it the Most Surprisingly Good Game and I can see why, although I expected to find the game very repetitive (which it is) I find myself continually drawn back to it.

  Although it is not a game that I could sit and play for hours on end, I do enjoy picking it up and playing 30 minute stints. If you enjoy playing sim's and are just looking for a simple and cheap game, this could be the one for you.

  Review | Zumba Fitness

  Zumba Fitness was developed by Pipeworks Software and published by Majesco Entertainment; based on the Zumba program, the game supports up to four players.

  Like to dance and stay in shape?

  Zumba fitness offers interactive Zumba you can do in your living room. It features nine different dance formats such as salsa, samba and hip hop with various levels of difficulties. As you progress, stages unlock and new routines emerge. It even offers you a workout calendar and multiple player options.

  I have been going to Zumba for the past 6 months and paying $10 each time. I thought it would be hard for me to get use to it but I was wrong. It appears to have a few of the same routines my instructors use including the music. It was great to have that familiarity and brand new routines I've never tried. I have been anxiously waiting for this game and it has met every expectation and more. I loved the atmosphere it creates by its colourful graphics and lively music. It was better than continuously spending my money on going out to Zumba when I can have it right at home whenever I want.

  Top 10 Games of 2011

  Christmas is now only a few weeks away and it is a good time to look at some of the top selling games of 2011. It is always difficult to know which games to buy and reading reviews is one good indicator of a game; another indicator is looking at the individual sales results.

  Having taken in to consideration both the sales and reviews we have compiled The Gamers top 10 games of 2011 and our top 5 Christmas ideas.

  Top 10 Games

  1.Pokémon Blacksold over a million copies in the US in its first day of sale and over 12 million to date. With good reviews from the critics Pokémon has been able to stay a firm favourite.

  2.L.A Noireis a detective crime game where the player investigates crimes looking for clues, following up leads and interrogating suspects. This unique game has received positive reviews and sold over 3 million copies today. L.A Noire is The Gamers game of 2011

  3. Gears of War 3is a third person shooter video game, published exclusively on XBOX 360 it has sold over 4 million copies

  4.Battlefield 3was only released in October with an estimated 3 million copies pre-ordered (according to EA). It has received positive reviews for its graphics and online multiplayer.

  5. FIFA 12is the 19thgame in EA's FIFA series; it has received praising for its refinements and new features.

  6.Modern Warfare 3was released in November to strong anticipation and has received critics reviews on average of 9/10

  7. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deceptionis an adventure game which sees the player travelling around the world. It is the 3rdgame in the series and has been one of the highest rated video games of 2011.

  8.Dead Space 2is a survival horror third-person shooter, which has received an average score of 9/10 from critics.

  9.Killzone 3is another third person shooter which includes motion control and 3D.

  10.F1 2011was developed by Codemasters and is based on the currently Formula 1 World Championship. The game includes the 2011 rule changes (such as DSR and KERS) along with teams and drivers.

  Top 5 Christmas Ideas

  1.Mario Kart Wiiis a consistent family favourite which has sold over 28 million copies and is a great game to play with family or friends.

  2.New Super Mario Bros Wiiis a traditional Mario platform game; it allows simultaneous multiplayer action with up to four players and is a great game for players of all ages and families alike.

  3.L.A Noireis a unique detective game and our favourite game of 2011

  4.Assassin's Creed Brotherhoodis the third in the Assassin's series and is set in 1499 Italy. Having been released in 2010 this great game can now been picked up for a bargain.

  5.Donkey Kong Country Returnsis another family favourite, it has sold over 5 million copies.
