    Resistance 2 Beta. Hell yeah.

Wow, November 21st can't get here fast enough.

Today I got my Resistance 2 Beta code and after an ultra short load time, the carnage began. I haven't played anything other than a few matches of offline cooperative mode with my brother, but it was fantastic.

The graphics have definetely had a significant step up from R1. The water is beautiful to look at, though you may not have much time to admire it amidst the chaos. The chimera also look much better, with a translucent quality to their skin, and the new blood effects leave nothing to be desired. The sounds of weapons and characters are also top notch.

The gameplay is similar to that of the first game, though there is still something a little off with the overhaul to the controls. Its like a strange combination of the controls from R1 with a few changes that definetely make it feel a little like COD4.

Overall though, the beta is superb. I can't wait to get right back into it after I get some sleep.

    Later dudes.

Death Note, LBP and my hype for Resistance 2.

Hey guys. Just thought I'd break a little boredom and post a new blog entry to give my opinion on a few things.

First of all, to all anime fans out there, I've just finished watching Death Note. Omfg, this show is insanely intellectual and so much deeper than any anime series I've ever watched. Hell, it blows most movies out of the water with its deep and rewarding challenge upon one's morals.

To anyone who hasn't watched it, the story follows a high school student by the name of Light Yagami who finds a notebook- the titular 'Death Note- and seeks to create a new world free of crime, while also keeping himself out of the reach of the long arm of the law. I highly recommend it to everyone, even those who aren't into anime. It is one of the most worthwhile experiences ever.

The second thing I want to say concerns the PS3 juggernaut Littlebigplanet. I had the most amazing time in the beta. I played countless levels throughout the brief time I had with it and saw some truly amazing things. I was blown away by the ingenuity that llevel creators were able to muster and am eagerly awaiting the chance to publish my first level whenever gamers down under get their hands on it. Playing with the level creator has put my mind into overdrive with ideas for levels, and I really need to vent my creative spirit.

Lastly, I have to let you guys know how much I'm looking forward to Resistance 2. This one looks like a full on visceral assault on the senses and I'm really looking forward to getting my hands dirty, especially with the new revolver with explosive bullets. I'm also crossing my fingers that I might just get one of the beta invites from myresistance.net, since I can't get Qore or receive the pre order code. It looks wicked and is definetely a day one purchase for me. Even though that is the best part of a month after the US gets the game..........

LBP Beta: My experience so far.

Wow, LBP truly meets and exceeds expectations. I just got my key today, and I've got to say this MGS4 has a mighty contender for GOTY here.

So far, I haven't built my own level, having just finished all of the tutorials and being overwhelmed by the sheer depth of the system. I've played around with the tools a bunch though and am developing a few ideas for my first level.

The gameplay is a lot deeper than I ever would have expected. I love all of the things people have done with switches and buttons in their levels. A few standouts include a level based entirely around horse racing and one with a Shadow of the Colossus theme, Aggro and collosi included. Also among my favourites are MGS: Return to Shadow Mosses and the Ninja Warrior level.

All in all, LBP is one of the best games I've ever played. I would have been reasonably happy if this beta was the full game and am struggling to come to terms with the fact that it is nothing in comparison to the full game. The 24th of October can't come quick enough.
