So much to talk about this month. So here is a list of things I've done since the last time I blogged...
Beat Metal Gear Solid 4 - It was an amazing game! I probably had the easiest time playing through it compared to the rest of the series. Although my favourite will forever by Metal Gear Solid 2, MGS 4 comes in as a close second.
Reached Level 30 - Finally out of the 20's. Yay.
E3 - This week marks the start for all the crazy E3 coverage around the site. I can't wait for the press conferences. Microsoft's starts in like 30 minutes. I'm looking forward to seeing Home, Little Big Planet, Sonic Unleashed, Mercenaries 2 and Megaman 9! I simply freaked when I heard about MM 9. I'll be around for all the gaming goodness.
MacBook - Last week Thursday I went out and got a MacBook. I didn't need one with a big hard drive because I have a 500 GB external drive. So I originally went with the white, 160 GB one. But they didn't have it in stock. So they gave me the 250 GB one for the price of the 160. And it's black... but I would never pay extra just to get the colour I want. I do prefer black, so it just happened to work out the way it did.
Crazy Weekend - Probably one of the busiest weekend's I've had in a short while. Non stop from Friday night to Sunday night. Chilling with friends playing some Halo and seeing some Schizoid. If you can play it well on Uber mode, then you're amazing. What else did I do might you ask? Explored the city my friends and I call home. It was fun. Went and saw Hellboy II. It was alright. Can't wait for The Dark Knight though. And on Sunday, I went to a Toronto Blue Jays game, yay! I can only see next weekend getting even more exciting as we shall analyze the impact that was E3 2008. Peace to all and keep on fragging in the free world.
Today I celebrate being a GS member for exactly 5 years. Through the fun times and the JG drama, I'm happy I stayed as long as I have. I've redone my banner and user icon for at least the next little while to reflect the time I've spent here. Though I have trimmed down my blogging to one a month I still feel like part of the community. Florida was extremely fun. Probably the best trip out of the 5 that I have done. This blog should be more of a shout out to the staffers. To their commitment to bringing us, the end user, good reviews and overall good work. Thank you for being as inviting as you all have been and I look forward to having a fun filled summer, and an even more interesting holiday season. Remember... Metal Gear comes next month!
Things achieved within this past year of being a member...
Was Level 23 at the 4 year mark... now 29.
Bought a PS3, 360.
Surpassed 1,000 total posts on this site.
Finally got to the second round of a tournament.
42 total emblems.
Beat a bunch of games lol.
but most of all...
Having great friends like you.
Just swinging on by before I get my day started here in lovely Florida. Haven't been on since the 8th, or before I left so I thought I'd do a little vacation blogging lol. Halo 3 tournament emblem should be on its way. Might pick up a game down here, maybe Dark Sector... it looks rad. I have a few videos from my trip so far that I'll be sure to upload when I get back. Happy birthday to those born today... you know who you are. Just happy to be done school mainly. Over the summer I look to get a job and or return to school for one extra year. The weather here is great and I'm having an equally fun time. Keep on keeping on!
Needless to say but A LOT has happened since my last blog. So I thought I'd blog early this month to get it all out of the way. It's March and that means that it's the next to last month of schooling that I will have to "suffer" through for the rest of my life! I recently bought Rock Band... yay. I've also been thinking about making a podcast... or dare I say "we" have thought about it. But on a more serious note, my relationship ended last week. No details or "shots" need to be given or taken because what's done is done. It sucks but rules all at the same time. That's life. So with this extra time I might delve into the World... of Warcraft. I know I bashed it before, but after playing the trial it can really be a lot of fun. I don't know if I ever posted what I thought the 2007 game of the year was so I decided to get a little creative and compile my games of the year dating back to 1985, the start of the NES. My criteria was simple: I have to have played the game, and it had to be in the year that it released in North America. Granted, what might be a game of the year to me, might not be a GOTY to you.
85 - Super Mario Bros. NES
86 - None
87 - The Legend of Zelda NES
88 - Zelda II NES
89 - Tetris GameBoy
90 - Mario 3 NES

98 - Metal Gear Solid PSone
99 - FF VIII PSone
00 - FF IX PSone
01 - Metal Gear Solid 2 SOL PS2 & FF X PS2

04 - Halo 2 Xbox & Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater PS2
05 - Guild Wars PC

07 - Halo 3 Xbox 360 & Super Mario Galaxy Wii
08 - ?
Now I know what you're thinking... Call of Duty 4? I just think that Halo has a much better online package than COD 4. Also, there will more than likely be a COD 5 this year whereas Halo isn't exactly a yearly franchise. So maybe COD 5 will have a chance then. I also don't like picking two winners in a year, but you can thank the really amazing games that come out for that. I just feel so compelled to pick two because I can't pick one or the other. I was even thinking about Ratchet and Clank Future and Mass Effect, but I realized that Halo and Mario blow it out of the water. Prediction for 2008: MGS 4?
If there is something I forgot, I'll post it under the comment section.
So this past weekend my girlfriend and I were suppose to got to Video Games Live in Toronto. It turns out that they posted the wrong driving directions on the host venue's web site. So that turned out to be quite the adventure.... needless to say; we missed it. And to think, I was almost going to dress up as Ratchet to enter a contest they were holding. So I guess I'll have to wait for another day before my convention dreams are fulfilled lol. I want to go to E3! Yeah, keep dreaming.
In other news, yesterday I beat Ratchet and Clank Future TOD, and I must say that it is quite a fun and addictive game. I had a little bit of a hard time with the final boss.... until I got the RYNO IV. I just think it sucks that the RYNO didn't make it in Deadlocked and the PSP game.... I think. But yeah, it's a totally awesome game and a must have for any PS3 owner.
Onto even more interesting things; GameSpot's staff.
I'd just like to say thanks to Ryan and Alex for the great times. It really sucks that it has to turn out this way. When I heard Alex was leaving, I wanted to. Ryan just seemed like icing on the cake, but I have a few reasons not to depart.... just yet.
Until Ricardo, Ryan Mac, Brad Shoe leave that is... Or if December 6th, 2008 comes first.... when my already canceled total access ends.
So we'll play it by ear. Other than that, school is winding down as I look to get a job. I've also been keeping up with Jeff, and company on their respective blogs. Keep on blogging in the free world! And for those of you who have left or are about to, here's my recently new IGN ID: Rossuron_X
