RustyScrew's blog

This is so scary.

I have a surplus of games to play.
I have never had that happen to me.

It's my birthday on Monday, but I started receiving gifts yesterday. I got Call of Duty 4 (PC), Headset for my PC, 1 gig of RAM, Geforce 7900 card, and Super Mario Galaxy. With my new card, I can actually play games. It's pretty friggen amazing.

Opinions?
Call of Duty 4 = This game is awesome. Go get it if you don't have it, which I highly doubt.
Super Mario Galaxy = Pretty awesome too, I play it in my spare time.

NCIX shipping...

Is hella **** slow. I've been waiting for it for about a month now. Ordered it on November 11th, now its December 4th. So yeah NCIX, do something, your shipping totally blows.

And the Jeff thing is really gay How could they terminate their best staff member? I can't wait for Jeff to actually post something on his blog. If he ever will, because he really needs to tell us what the hell happened. If he really got fired because of advertiser pressure, than GameSpot is really CashWhore. Don't they have enough money already, with all them Total Access and Plus subscribers? I'm really pissed at both of these things.

Better PC and a whole lot of gaming.

I recently ordered some PC parts so that my computer could actually play 3 year old games. Hopefully.

Right now I'm running some crappy Dell comp that I got for free because of a promotion. It's got some crappy Intel Graphics Controller that can barely run Call of Duty 1, 512mb of Ram, and a Pentium 4. I ordered a new motherboard thats got GeForce 6100 intergrated graphics. Hopefully I can play like... Half Life 2 on it (which ties into my other part). Also got a new Athlon processor, and 1 gig of ram. After that I'll save up for a graphics card. All for 166 dollars.

So, inorder to test out my new computer, I also ordered The Orange Box off eBay. I hope it's not already regged, because that would suck. But it's labeled New, so I can always tell eBay that the dude screwed me over. But yeah, Orange Box. That's like 5 games. Than considering the Mods that are out there for HL2 like SourceForts which I really wanna play, I can get a real kick outta this.

Why Rich Gallup's Leave Will Sadden Us All.

So, today marked Rich Gallup's last day as host of On The Spot. The most charismatic man in the office is leaving to go to the east coast. He will be greatly missed, and here are a few reasons why I believe he will be so missed along all us GameSpot fans.

3. Charisma

As I've said before, this man had charisma like no other. He would try his best, and if he didn't do his best, he would make sure he did. He brought such enthusiasm to his work, he was always aiming for 110 percent. Right from the start, in his first day's as Features Editor, he had an idea in his head that turned out to become Let's GameSpot, which still stays in my mind for its memorable moments.

2. Fun

The reason why he was so amazing is probably by the fact that he played games just for fun, and knew how to ask questions that the general public like us would want to know. He didn't seem like the person to become super-amazing at some game, he was a casual gamer unlike most the other editors like Jeff who just beat a game, throw it at the wall, and move on to something else. His favourite genre of games is Puzzle games, and that definitely said something about him. He was definitely the kind of person who would play games in short bursts, and still play the heck out of that game.

1. It's Rich Gallup, come on.

To simply put it, its Rich Gallup. What else do you want? He has a white spot on his eyebrow and his name is awesome. He definitely seemed like a person I would want to be around. I hoped to meet him some day, maybe at a shooting of Button Mashing. But now that won't happen. So Rich, I salute you. DO THE GALLUP.

You will be missed.

Felt as if I needed to post something.

Hello.

Meh, first entry, not trying to make it too big. I've been playing Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition most of the time right now. And Bloons. Megaman ZX or XZ, whatever it is, is pretty fun. It's open-ended so you can go anywhere whenever you want. Well, not anywhere, some areas are unlocked once you reach them. The summer has mostly been boring for me. E3 took up most of my time, now its back to doing absolutely nothing. Waiting for The Simpsons movie to come out. Ima start saving up for Guitar Hero 3 now, so that I won't run into troubles later. I hope it turns out as good as Harmonix's games. It better.

Rock Band will probably get a sequel, maybe. Maybe because they said that they will be releasing a LOT of content over XBL so, it might cancel out the sequels. If they do make one, it better come to the Wii, cause thats the only next-gen system I have. I entered that "Win a PS3" contest from Sony, so maybe I'll win it? Doubt it though, maybe I'll get one of those t-shirts.

Yey for t-shirts.

Some squashed clips from Age of Conan's GS Game Night. This was taken using the FRAPS software, so it doesn't look as smooth as footage I take using a deck. Enjoy!
