Blog has moved to a dedicated site (still under construction)

Hey all I am moving my blog to a more dedicated site that is ran personally so that way I can pretty much do whatever I like with it. I will do very little here other than hit up the forums.

My blog is under construction and I am in the process of making a new banner as well as figuring out exactly what links I will remove and what ones to add, I am focused right now on getting the content up so that people wont be seeing a blank site.

Im a jounalist major so you wont see everything on there that is dedicated to gaming, but a major part of it will be, feel free to visit at any time, and send me a PM to tell me what you think and suggestions are ALWAYS welcome, just dont be too critical just yet

    Blue Dragon

I was a little nervous when I went to go pick up Blue Dragon. I am a huge fan of JRPGs but this one was getting reviews as low as a 6 from our very own gamespot. Now granted I usually take reviews from a grain of salt, and the sources I look at usually are right on par with my own tastes and usually like and dislike the same things.

This is the one time that I have to honestly disagree with the review teams that I check out. There is no way in hell that Blue Dragon deserves a 6. It is a much better game than what people are giving it credit for. The story is very well done, it looks and plays beautifully, and it really brings back the good old days of a traditional days of playing Final Fantasy 3 or 4 all the up to 10 where its turned based and plays how you want to play. I am not dissing real time RPGs, I loved FF12 as well as all the zelda games and Morrowind and Oblivion....the list could go on forever. But every now and then I am in the mood for a nice slow paced game that allows me to play at the speed that I want to play and gives me the freedom to explore a diverse and massive world at my own leisure. And dammit, I love the level grind (sick I know).

Blue Dragon gives me all of these things, so the opinion of the reviewers disagrees with my own and thats ok. One thing that people need to get away from is the fact that people like certain games, and dislike certain games for personal reasons.

For example, I hated Lost Planet, that would have not gotten a good review from me because I feel that the game is broken. Oh well, its my opinion, my games and ffs people get a gamefly or block buster account and learn to rent games.

A true gamers strength lies in thier own talents and opinions, sure I check other reviews just to get an idea of what the game was about and what the reviewers had issues with. But at the end of the day I am not going to buy a game that everone else loves without first playing the game and making my own conclusions.

SO in conclusion to this drawn out dissertation on individuality, BE A F'ING INDIVIDUAL!

    Bioshock

Picked up Bioshock today for meh 360 since the PC version was having some problems. That and my computer is in no condition to even come close to running bioshock. (A rebuild is underway though)

Over all I am highly pleased with my purchase and have spent maybe an hour or so in the actual game. The intro is stunning as well as the old 1950-60's themed advertisements and nastalgia associated with the environment. It adds an amazing depth to the game as well as draws you into the story completely.

Audio wise...the game is blowing my mind, I am loving the music and the sounds the weapons make.

I hope to be spending some quality time with bs this weekend. I am drunk right now so if this makes no sense, forgive me, I love beer and stuffs.
