  Silicon Knights Lays of 25 to 30

  Reached for comment Monday Silicon Knights officials had this to say:

  After any big game ships, there is often some attrition. Teams are lean and mean in the beginning, grow toward the end of the project, and then whittle down once the project is finished. To that end, Silicon Knights temporarily laid-off 26 employees today while they ramp up on other projects. All the company's directors and leads are still at Silicon Knights and working on its next projects.

  The slight cutback comes after four years of unprecedented growth for the St. Catharines', Ontario (Canada) company, during which its headcount had expanded to more than 180 employees.

  Denis Dyack, President and founder of the company, stated, "Silicon Knights is currently working on several new and exciting games that will be announced to the public in the coming months. In addition to those projects, Silicon Knights continues to develop and promote other new and original ideas, which will become the innovative games of tomorrow. These 26 individuals are hard-working and valued team members that we hope to bring back as we ramp up on our future projects."

  I have joined the Dark Side

  That is right, I have gone over to the Dark Side.

  About a month ago I was thinking about Mass effect after a friend and myself were talking about it. I was remembering how much I really enjoyed myself playing it, but I didn't own a 360. I really wanted to play it again, but didn't want to burden anyone with borrowing their 360 again. So, I was thinking about buying my own (against my own wishes). I was on the fence about it, until I watched the E3 Press Conference for Microsoft and seen the game play for Fable 2. I fell in love with it right away and so that mushed me off the fence. I desided to get a 360. So the last two weeks I worked ten hour days to make sure my check would be 100 hours. So just yesterday I went out and picked up a 360 Elite and of course got Mass Effect also. I also picked up Crackdown, I found that game much fun also.

  I want all my friends to know I am no traitor, I still love my PS3 more and plan to buy all multiplatform games on it.

  Please forgive me, but the Dark Side was calling... And it has cookies!

  EDIT: Also, I wanted to add something... This is the first time owning two systems on the same generation sense I owned an Atari and ColecoVision at the same time. lol

  Sony is taking me HOME!

  I just got an email confermation that I have been selected into the home closed beta from when I D'D'd the Home theme. I am D/Ling it right now and I am so excited! I hope to see you all there sometime!
