  MGS4 Teaser Sketches.

  Sure, they're only initial concept sketches of what the characters will look like, but they get us salivating every time. The implications we can draw from them abound. I think by this time it's pretty much been established just who is in these sketches, so I hope I'm not spoiling anything for anyone. In any case, here's my breakdown of the characters and what part they could (and/or should) play in this game. One striking similarity I've found in all the skecthes is that everybody looks really, really pissed off.
  
  VAMP: So, apparently he really can't die twice. Vamp obviously has some connections outside of Dead Cell that are keeping him keenly interested in our protagonists' activities. Another agent of the Patriots? Or, perhaps still an agent against the Patriots, carrying on Solidus's ideal? Whichever side he's on, he's proving to be one tough little cockroach.
  
  MERYL: It's been officially stated by Kojima himself that both Meryl and Otacon escaped with Snake from Shadow Moses, despite the fact that only one or the other would be with you at the end of the game. So there. The most likely case is that she'll be fighting side by side with Snake and Raiden. PSM hypothesized that she could possibly be against them, but I doubt that; we all love her too much. If you look at her right (our left) leg, that armor is strikingly similar to Snake's, further mounting evidence that they're on the same team.
  
  RAIDEN: First of all, I don't know if he's even going to be called "Raiden" in this game, because that name was only given to him at the start of the Big Shell mission, and that mission was just a big deception, so maybe he'll just go by Jack. As for who's baby he's carrying, that's still up in the air. It could be Olga's, but Snake did say that he would find Olga's child. On the other hand, it could be his and Rose's baby. I was certain that this was the case, because I assumed Olga's child would be older than a baby by this time, but then I remembered that she never really specified how long after the tanker incident that she had her baby. He does look a bit less girlish though, doesn't he? what with the new armor (which by the way, looks more like Gray Fox's than Olga's did), so here's hoping e can finally stop hating on poor ol' Jack.
  
  OCELOT: Swiftly becoming my favorite character of the whole series, Ocelot's (apparent) true alliance has been revealed, now we just have to see what his new orders are. It's a little hard to tell if he still has Liquid's right arm, but i think I see the knuckle of an index finger in there, so I'm presuming Liquid will still have a hand (no pun intended) in the plot.
  
  SOLID SNAKE: Our boy's looking a little more weathered this time around, now sporting a full beard, and he still has the invincible mullet. Obviously the most notable part of Snake's appearance is his new sneaking suit (which is making me wonder where they came to afford all this new technology while being a lowly non-profit fringe organization like Philanthropy? Perhaps they have a new benefactor footing their bills?) We are left to wonder if Snake will be, or feel, as old as he looks. EDIT: I mentioned the FOXDIE virus, but then I remembered Liquid saying "No wonder Naomi passed over for the FOXDIE program," so apparently he wasn't infected. I could be wrong, but we'll just have to wait and see.
  
  OTACON: Vamp killed his sister. Hal be's pissed, yo. We've never seen Otacon get physical yet, but I have a feeling he has a score to settle with Vamp that he gonna want to settle on his own. We may very well see our beloved Otacon get his hands dirty this time. I think after his soul-bearing experience on the Big Shell, Otacon will be much less the timid but lovable nerd we're used to. He's been through a lot, and at the same time, has a tremendous burden off of his shoulders. I think overall he's going to be a changed man. We'll just have to see how changed.
  
  BIG BOSS: Yes, it's Big Boss. I don't want to hear it. It's not Solidus. Why? Because B.B.'s eyepatch is on his right eye, Solidus lost his left eye. As to whether or not it's just Big Boss's corpse, my thoughts are this: Why would a corpse be wearing an eyepatch? Yes, I know, without the patch you couldn't really tell who it is, and they probably put it there for identification purposes, even if he is dead, but still. Remember when Snake asked Campbell why they wouldn't just hand over Big Boss's remains? And remember how Campbell got all weird about it and avoided answering? Perhaps because they don't have his remains, because perhaps he isn't dead. Hmm?
  
  NAOMI: Some folks are saying that if it is her, she still wants revenge on Snake for killing her brother, but from judging what she said to Snake at the end of Shadow Moses, I doubt she wants to kill Snake. Perhaps she's found a way to counter the FOXDIE virus, or perhaps she is under orders to finish what FOXDIE couldn't. Whether she's a friend or a reluctant enemy, the only inference I can draw from her sketch is that she's trying to hide her identity somehwat. What that implies is too early to tell.
  
  So there you have it. My opinion on the only MGS4 info we have so far. And hey, do you think it will even be called MGS4? Kojima has said multiple times, even recently, that MGS3 was the end of a trilogy. Could this be the beginning of a whole new branch of the series? if so, this could Be Solid Snake's last game...
