Got my iPhone 3GS 32GB today!
Finally! After a week waiting for my iPhone - initially got one from eBay (16GB model) for quite cheap, but issues between me and the seller ended me getting a refund and the transaction going through.
So after another week still waiting for PayPal to complete the refund process, I gave up waiting and bit the bullet. Went down to my local 3 store and requested for a handset upgrade - so I'm stuck with my current plan for another 2 years (but hey, I haven't complained, I like my service so far)
After doing research about the pricing of the iPhone from 3 - I found out that getting both the iPhone 3G and 16GB model of the 3GS is a rip off (more expensive then getting it outright unlocked from the Apple store), I decided to get the 32GB 3GS model (the cost from 3 - $1080, buy outright from Apple, $1040, that's good, better than the pricing for the other two)
Very happy, been mucking around with it, and just like when I played my little sister's iPhone 3G - I think it's a brilliant device, even with such restrictions, lacking features and huge price mark-up from other phones.
Also got myself on order and should be arriving tomorrow, a protective casing for my iPhone - the SwitchEasy Rebel Capsule - that thing looks awesome and hopefully will protect my costly investment.
Sadly, I got one of the new revision on the iBoot ROM where Apple blocked the exploits that are important to jailbreaking - so no homebrew of jailbreaks from my iPhone currently
- but the official app store is so packed with a lot of apps that I might just skip jailbreaking altogether. Here's some pictures, and bye!

Uncharted 2 Finished
Well finally finished Uncharted 2, and overall, I liked it. Did seem a lot better than the first one with even more bigger environments and more epic moments.
I would have given it a 8.5, but then the game did two things that made me score the first game lower. First thing, quick time moments - GOD SAKE, STOP USING THEM!!! I hate games that forces the player to press a button. It is a stupid system that should never be used again. Second thing, ancient mutants, what ever you call them, once I sure the supernatural things, it was an instant score-down, sorry, but no. On the other hand, good to see no blatant inclusion of motion control.
And that last level - annoying! Just running around in circle while the damn guy can move faster than a rocket while being spammed by a kajillion grenades. Yeah, the last level still sucks, like the first game.
Good to see however that the multiplayer is actually really fun. If only matchmaking actually worked, PSN didn't suck like a dog's bollocks and added a lot more features (like search games by location, connection, etc.).
Overall - the campaign gets 7.5 but the multiplayer boosts it up to a 8/10

Now Playing - Uncharted 2
Well here we go, Uncharted 2 - the next supposebly gem on the PS3.
Now I will admit that I wasn't a fan of the first game - it's was fun and interesting, but not to the point of 'OMG best game ever!' - I would award it a 7/10 tops - have some crap levels, broken gunplay mechanics at times and the protagonist is a douchbag asking to be punch in the face.
So here I am with Uncharted 2 - picked it up yesterday. Nice to see it is still in the old cover (with the words Playstation 3 written down the side) as the new one looks craptastic. Played about 3.5 hours worth yesterday, and so far:
I'm liking it - definitely more positive opinion of it than the first one. The first level was a cracker, my positivness died down a bit when it got to the Turkish museum stealth level (that fountain part was annoying! repeated it so many times) but it picked up a lot when it started to get to the Nepal level.
Visually - I say it looks a lot better than the first one - a lot of new environments and scenes - again the Nepal level looked abosutely stunning! And generally the textures and character models look a bit sharper.
I have also tried the multiplayer and honestly - it is fun. Does feel right in this game, feels like playing Red Faction Guerilla. Problem is, it is best when theres local players. Since I'm in Australia, I was matchmaked (which I think is broken) with European players who were no way in my level of skills - they were, apart for one, all pros! That said, it was still fun.
Gonna play more today on single and multi - but initial impression score - 8.5/10

"Amazing" It may take a back seat from it's pervious FPS outings, but that makes Red Faction Guerrilla in a league of it's own. Continue »
