Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage Review
I just posted my review for Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage from the PlayStation, to read it click HERE! Like always I really appreciate your recommendations

but don't read the whole thing unless you want to, it's pretty long. And to answer PrincesTwilight from last blog: I only write reviews when I feel I've played a game enough to have a final opinion of it. Since I've hardly played Sonic Chronicles and it keeps getting better for me, it would be pretty unfair to do a review right now. Don't fret, I will do a review eventually like I do for all other games I have
. Thanks everyone and have a great weekend!"Don't give up, it's not the end, there's hope for every fallen man to pick themselves up when they think they can't, 'cause with every passing second comes a second chance" "Forgiveness can be given when you think it can't, 'cause with every passing second comes a second chance..." Sonic Chronicles Impressions PART TWO + The Best Yet
So I played Sonic Chronicles some more last night and today and I'm very pleased to say I'm liking it more. I'm still only midway through the second chapter (so still REALLY early on) but it's already getting better. The strange thing is I played it for another half hour last night and I had a slight headache, and even felt the tiniest bit of nausea
. The frame rate is super smooth but it's the camera that REALLY hurts the outside-of-battle gameplay. It's just so stinking annoying to have the screen shift every three seconds
. On a happier note I think the battle system is ok, not bad but still not the best. I'm still not liking the whole attacking in rounds deal but it is kind of cool to watch your guys do the fighting. Well, it would be cooler if the battle scenes weren't so... unrealistic? I mean, you miss a guy, there's no animation showing them dodge the attack, and then you fly backwards and are on the ground.
And your guys miss about half the time (well I'm hoping there's a way around that in the future because it's bugging the heck out of me now) which is extremely irritating. The POW attacks are pretty sweet and the execution of them is really the only part of the game involving your playing skills, otherwise you just sit back and watch and there's nothing you can do but let chance determine the outcome of the fight. Still, it's pretty fun. So overall I think the game is pretty good, much better than yesterday and I don't know why I felt so weird after playing it last night, maybe it was just because I didn't really have a very good day yesterday and I was feeling weird from that as well. So I'm thinking a 7-7.5 right now but this is still REALLY early on, you have to remember that when considering what you read about my opinion here
.And, being such a big fan of Switchfoot, I wanted to let you all know that the band is releasing their first ever greatest hits album: The Best Yet. It's coming November 4th and you can see the track listing on their website. It has a lot of their best songs so if you're interested in the band I recommend you give this a shot. The deluxe edition is only $5 more than the regular (regular is $11) but it has a DVD with FOURTEEN videos on it! I'll definitely be getting the deluxe even though I already have all the songs on the CD
. And there's a holiday package that includes the CD with a bunch of other neat stuff including a t-shirt and I really want to get that, that's probably what I'll do. So yeah that's all for today, thanks for reading! And I think it'd be kind of cool to have a quote form a song at the end of my blogs every once in a while, remember that most of them will naturally be (you guessed it!) Switchfoot, but they're not the only band that has meaningful lyrics out there.
Hold fast to the break of daylight where The Shadow Proves the Sunshine (Switchfoot: 'The Shadow Proves the Sunshine')

Sonic Chronicles Early Impressions
Well I got Sonic Chronicles today and I played it for about 20 minutes and I'm sad to inform you all that I'm thoroughly disappointed with it thus far. The best thing about it is the graphics, they're really crisp and look great. The frame rate is one thing that's hurting the game for me, though. Most of the time it's super smooth but it will often suddenly shift really quickly and that happening over and over nearly gave me a headache. The battle gameplay is really disappointing so far too. I mean what's up with the rounds? I want to plan out each attack! I also want to be able to have some way of doing a little more damage with my attacks (like in the Mario RPG's, you know getting good timing with the button presses?) and also I wish there was some way to block and reduce damage taken. I've used one POW attack so far and it was pretty sweet, but the way you have to execute it is kind of lame. I hope they differ with each attack. I also hate the minigame that comes up when your enemies try to run away, what's up with that? Touch your characters to make them jump, and don't hit the boxes or you'll take damage! How fun
. And overall the battle system requires zero skill to do well in (well, so far at least). So yeah with the little I've played I'm disappointed. I've only played a few minutes so far so I'll give it time but for the moment I'm not too happy, and I'm really not in the mood for a headache at the moment.Soli Deo Gloria
