My Friends

VGFreak8's Blog

This is a blog where I write stuff...that's pretty much it.

  • 10Sep 08

Hello everyone! I know it's been a really really really long time since I've been on here. As some of you may have noticed, I've been retired from my OTH editorship. I'm just coming on here to have an official goodbye! My decision has been to leave this site as of now. I will no longer come on here anymore (maybe in the future, I'll visit).

I thank each and every one of you for your kindness and I will remember all the fun things that have happened here like forums or blogs or whatever else!

I love you all and with that, I bid my farewell!! GOODBYE DEAR FRIENDS!

Hi everyone. It's a sad thing, but I'm considering leaving the site. I do want to retire from my editor positions because I just don't have an interest for this site anymore. I'm sorry if this makes you guys sad, but when it's gone, it's gone. I'll never forget you guys and the memories of staying up late submitting or the many reviews I wrote or the fun blogs that were posted or the forums that started it all for me on here!!

This is important though: I might not leave for good, but I am just considering it. I won't retire just yet, as the decision is final and cannot be undone. I'll wait at least until September to make my final decision. Thank you all!

Hm...let's see. I haven't been on here for a while (because of how I'm losing my love for this site and because I took a small trip). Well, during the trip, I saw two movies that I absolutely enjoyed (even though they are chick flicks). The first was The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. This was a great movie! I already knew two of the GG girls in the movie (Alexis Bledel; Gilmore Girls and Blake Lively; Gossip Girl) and I was already familiar with America Ferrera, so I thought, "why not see it?" I really did like the movie! It was rated PG for thematic elements, some sensuality and language. I think it was pretty appropriate for a PG rating. Although, it does deal with some mature stuff like suicide, losing your virginity, child with cancer, etc. My favorite character was probably Tibby (Amber Tamblyn).

The second movie I saw was none other than, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. That was rated PG-13 for mature material and sensuality, which was an appropriate rating! There is a brief sex scene (both clothed). Also, more mature issues like pregnancy, nude modeling, the birth of a baby, etc. I really enjoyed this sequel too! Tibby was my favorite character again! I think these two movies are great for teen girls (it seems to be that way) and just girls in general (although maybe not little kids). Guys should like it too, but it was very girlish.

Well, I'm tired from the trip I mentioned above. I'm not going into detail right now, but I went to two states and I had a blast!

Also, Keith is my new icon! He's from OTH and I love his character!

Okay, well, I know I've said that I will continue to go on this site, just not as often. Well, now I feel like I don't really want to go on at all. I will stick to it for now, but I might just have to go off earlier than I thought I would. Doing the queue is no fun for me, writing reviews is getting a little tedious, and submitting isn't as fulfilling as it used to be. I STILL LOVE YOU GUYS THOUGH!!! It's just the other stuff that I'm getting tired of. Hope you understand!

Well, for those of you who read my last blog, I'm taking your advice about going on every once in a while. I used to wonder what you fine people would be doing without me on here whenever I was away from a computer, but now, I can finally let go of that feeling of "What will they do without me?" Hope that makes sense. So, basically, I'm not going to be on here everyday, but I won't be leaving the site.

I just saw one of the most tragic, sad, epic, romantic, dramatic, and TITANIC movie every!! Guess what it is? Well, before you do, it's rated PG-13 for disaster related peril and violence, nudity, sensuality and brief language. I saw it on TNT, so it edited out the nudity I'm guessing. Although, they did show the nude drawing of Rose that Jack draws and there is that sex scene in the car. Then, it gets scary for little kids when this vessel hits an iceberg. It's nerve-wracking and very sad to watch. There's people dying everywhere and panic all around. Have you guessed what movie it is? Titanic of course!! I loved it! That was very sad, but I did enjoy it! Very long though...

Well, lately, I haven't had that awesome feeling that I get whenever I'm on here. I always loved going on this site and I just couldn't wait, but now, I feel like going here is a chore. I'm not saying that I'm leaving or anything, but I don't know if I want to go on everyday. I know I have responsibility on here (being an editor and all), so I'm not going to leave this site just yet. I just wanted to tell you guys that for some reason, I just don't get as excited as I used to when I'm on here. Well, hopefully that ends soon because I remember how much I loved going on here! Oh well...what am I to do?

What a weird name...well, if you remember, a few blogs back, I posted that I was auditioning for Wheel of Fortune. Well.......I didn't make it.... It's okay though, but I really was expecting to be on it because I was sure that my friend and I did very well! Better luck next year, huh?

I saw two movies recently. The first was Grace is Gone starring John Cusack. It was a sad movie, but I didn't really enjoy it as much as my mom did. She was crying, but I thought it was so-so. It's rated PG-13 for thematic material, brief strong language and teen smoking. It's actually an okay movie on content, it's just the F word though.

The second movie I saw was Princess Mononoke. It's a Japanese animation movie that blew my mind away!! It's so good and the style is awesome! I love the director/creator guy, Miyazake! It's rated PG-13 for images of violence and gore. If it weren't animated, it would probably be rated R. It's pretty violent for a cartoon, but I enjoyed it a lot! One of my favorite movies so far!

Well, today I turned in my AP English homework! I was just smidge late because I didn't realize the school office closed an hour earlier than usual. Well, I got it in and I'm satisfied with my work! Now, I have a couple more things to do for AP U.S. History.

Well, because of the new movie coming out for The X-Files, I thought I should check the show out. I saw the pilot on TNT and it was really good! I think I will start watching it!

Well, my AP work is due tomorrow and I still have stuff to do like an essay...wish me luck!!

Yeah, I took that title from One Tree Hill, who took that title from U2.

Well, the reason for that title is because Cross Country summer training has started! The first practice was yesterday. I haven't run all summer, so I pretty much sucked yesterday. I walked frequently (and I'm not a very good runner to begin with). Today was good though because I barely walked and I was the first one to make it to the school! (I was in the short group; there is a long group, which runs farther than the short group). I was still happy to be first though! The fastest runner on our team was the third to make it to the school, which was impressive!

I just saw two pretty good movies! The first was License to Wed. Starring Robin Williams, Mandy Moore and John Krasinski, this movie is about the joys (and mostly perils) of getting married. It was funny and entertaining and I love John Krasinski from The Office and Mandy Moore is one of my favorite actresses! It's rated PG-13 for sexual humor and language. It's mostly all dialogue that's bad, but it still may be inappropriate for kids.

The other movie I saw was Get Smart, starring Steve Carrell, Anne Hathaway and Dwayne Johnson. Great cast (including Masi Oka from Heroes)! It was very funny and full of action! Steve Carrell is hilarious! It's rated PG-13 for some rude humor, action violence and language. Although that doesn't sound too bad, it does show Steve Carrell's bare butt and there is a kiss (non-romantic) between Steve and Dwayne. It's an iffy when it comes to kids watching it because otherwise, it isn't that bad of a movie aside from the above mentioned instances.

I just saw Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3D. It was pretty cool! I loved the action and the adventure! I enjoyed it and the 3D was pretty cool! I'm wearing the 3D glasses right now, in fact! It's rated PG for intense adventure action and some scary moments. Small kids might get scared, but it's clean!

I also just became editor for I Survived a Japanese Game Show! I'm excited about that! I will begin working on the guide tomorrow because I don't have much time today. I have to go! Bye!

Okay, well, I just saw the ABC Family movie, Picture This. It was okay. I didn't like how she got away with everything and then her reward was that her father now trusts her. That defeats the whole purpose. Well, I enjoyed it anyways.

Also, I beat the first Guitar Hero yesterday for the second time (my sister erased my data). It was way easy than I thought, but probably because I've done it before.

I just saw The Last Samurai yesterday. That was a really good movie! Since I'm Japanese, it was cool to see my heritage or whatever. It's rated R for strong violence and battle sequences. It's pretty violent, but not as violent as some other R movies. There was no sex or profanity though, so that was good!

I just ate a whole Hamburger Helper meal thing. I'm so full now! It's kind of random, but I couldn't eat anything right now even if I tried.

I just saw the movie The Invisible. It was pretty good. It did confuse me a little bit, but I sort of got by the end. It wasn't as good as I thought it'd be, but I liked it still. It's rated PG-13 for violence, criminality, sensuality and language - all involving teens. It's not for kids, but it's not a really bad PG-13.

I have to memorize all the US presidents for my AP History class. Not only their names, but also their party and the years they served. I'm only really worried about the years. That would seem harder than names and their party. Well, talk to you guys later!

Well, I got the first Guitar Hero for the PS2. I'd already beaten it with my friend's game, but then my little sister and her friend erased all my data, so I bought it and I'm going to go through it again because I haven't played it in a while anyways. It's pretty fun, but it does get a little repetitive. It's a great music/rhythm game, but it is rated T for mild lyrics.

I have so much summer homework for my AP classes! I'm trying to do it right now, but I just couldn't, so I came on here to vent just a little. I've done quite a bit so far, but I still have to do three essays and read another book and do another chapter in my workbook and memorize the presidents and analyze 9 documents (which have to be found over the Internet). AHHHH!!!!!

Okay, I feel better, so I will try and do one of my essays now. Wish me luck!

I just watched the first episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager. It seems like a pretty good show, but I think they talk about sex too much. It's too focused on sex. I think it has great potential and especially since Brenda Hampton (creator of 7th Heaven) is behind it! I will continue watching it and hopefully, it gets better!

I just worked on my friend's Eagle Scout Project today. We painted a map of the USA on a nearby school. It was more fun that regular labor and I hope to start mine really really soon!

This isn't a combined title because I only have one thing.

I just saw the movie Saving Private Ryan. Wow! What an amazing movie! The battles were extremely realistic and the sounds were so blisteringly good! It was really sad when a guy died because you got to know the character. There was a great cast! I knew Tom Hanks, Matt Damon, Vin Diesel, Jeremy Davies and Paul Giamatti. It was pretty graphic in terms of violence and language was also moderately bad with F words and others. It's rated R for intense prolonged realistically graphic sequences of war violence, and for language. It might be my favorite movie! Definitely not for kids.

    I have to go, bye!!

That title just sounds wrong, I'm sorry. There wasn't really anyway else to combine that.

Well, I saw two movies yesterday: Hancock and Life-Size.

Hancock was good! It didn't make a lot of sense though, but I still enjoyed it! Will Smith is always great! I loved the action and comedy in it! I wouldn't recommend it for young children because it's rated PG-13 for some intense sequences of sci-fi action and violence, and language. It's mostly the language that concerns me.

Life-Size is a strange movie as well. I sort of liked it, but you can tell it's for kids. It did make me think of how innocent Lindsay Lohan used to be though.

I also got a new icon!! It's Whitey from One Tree Hill. That guy is so wise and he's an awesome character! Barry Corbin is a great actor!!

I just got back from summer camp! It was actually really fun! Probably the best one I've been to ever! This is going to sound a little dorky, but I got my Personal Fitness merit badge and I'm almost done with my Personal Management merit badge! After that, all I have to do is my Eagle Scout Project, Scoutmaster Conference, and Board of Review and I will be an Eagle Scout!

Also, I'm thinking about staffing at that summer camp this summer. I talked to the director and I got an application. I would get paid! It would be my first job, but since I made friends with some of the staff, it will be half-fun too!

I'm pretty pooped right now (especially after checking my queue, LOL), so I will end now.

Hey all! Today will be my last day on TV.com for this week. I'm going to Boy Scout summer camp and I won't be back until July 6 or so. I will miss being on here, but I'm sure I'll have fun there too. In past blogs, I may have explained how going to camp will suck (because I hate camping, Boy Scouts, and living without major technology), but I've decided to have a good attitude about it. I might as well enjoy myself, since I have to go no matter what.

I saw two movies, Dan In Real Life and Sleepover, both of which have Steve Carell! I love that guy! Hd's so funny! Dan in Real Life was good. I didn't love it, but it wasn't bad either. Good story and funny situations, but it was lacking something. It's rated PG-13 for some innuendo, but I didn't think it was too bad. It's basically a family movie. It has some kissing and a shower scene (with Steve Carell and the main women), but the shower scene isn't romantic. It's sort of a funny situation and they don't really show anything at all. Steve is clothed, but the woman isn't. Other than that, it's okay.

Sleepover was also an okay movie. It was funny and had a decent story, but it wasn't like spectacular. I recognized a lot of people though! That's rated PG for thematic elements involving teen dating, some sensuality and language. It's sort of on a higher scale for a PG movie, but it's still pretty clean.

Bye everyone! I'll see you in a week!
