All About Wolf26pack
10May 07O.K. Usually I don't Rant about things but something is really bothering me. When it comes to certain games for Example Spider-Man 3, Need for Speed Most Wanted & Need for Speed Carbon. It makes me mad to know that we have to shell out about $75.00 to play a game w/ some extras because they add something to the game that the regular edition doesn't have. Now I know everyone's going to say "well you don't need to buy the Collector's Edition so Shut up" well that is true but let me explain how I see it.
1.When it started right before the Next-Gen Systems started to arrive I accepted it as a temporary thing that will go away as they are adding more content and it is taking up more space. There was no other way to get this content. By that I mean NO Downloadable Content System was in place. At least for PS2 & Gamecube.
2. When I learned that the games prices were going to go up too $60 each I wasn't too happy but it was happening to Xbox 360 as well so I accepted it.
3. When I learned of the Format that the PS3 was using with Blu-ray & having a Hardrive installed on every System I thought O.K. they are making room for more stuff Great so the price is of each game is being Justified. I thought with More space available on the Disc Collector Editions would pretty much disappear, but instead they continue to be made and at yet another Premium of $10. I was like WTF why are they charging an extra $10 for content that probably fits on the Blu-ray Disc already.
Now I know that with HD Visuals like 720P, 1080P and 5.1 or 7.1 Audio and less Compression being used it takes up much more room on the Disc, but as of now I don't think one of the publishers has managed to take up a full Blu-ray disc.
Now my idea would be why don't they say screw Collectors Editons and make all the extra's DLC that way they can make there money with out alienating customers who want the extra content but can't get to the store for the any number of reasons be it can't afford it at the time etc etc etc....
Now when it comes to Xbox 360 it would take an extra disc probably to get that extra content on their so it costs more for them I really can't complain about that one. As for the Wii I don't think the Gamecube or any Nintendo Platform has ever had a collectors edition except for Zelda Twilight Princess for Gamecube and I hope that this trend won't continue.
Now some people may say well if they put it on the PS3 on one Bluray and Charge $60 for it and they have to put it on two discs on the 360 and Charge $75 some people would say that's unfair. I'm a 360 owner why do I have to pay more. Well I'm not going to be a hardass and say well that's too bad you should have bought a PS3, plus I'm not a fanboy. So where is the answer to this, that is where the DLC comes in making it DLC for both systems gives them both the same accessabilty to the extra content for the game.
My Main Point is
They Shouldn't make Collector Edition's Anymore they Should just make the Regular Editions and put the rest of the Extra Content as DLC so everyone gets their fair share.
Leave Comments of what you think maybe we as gamers can make something happen. People made a petiton to have the game makers of Bioshock bring out a Limited Edition of it . Perhaps we can convince them of what I said above.
P.S. I know that sometimes Collectors Editons sometimes have something big as for Bioshock and getting somekind of limited Figurine. What I am talking about is for Digital Content not Statues and Figurines. If they want to add that and add another $10 too the Price fine that's another deal

A while back there was a Story about Nintendo not allowing online 3rd Party Support till 2008 when I read the story there was one thing that caught my eye and it seemed like the biggest suprise to me Nintendo has all of the NES & SNES game Library ready they even have the manuals to go with it, all they have to do is get the IP permission and they can put them out on the Virtual Console. Here is the Quote from Ben Herman SNK's Boss...
"I know that Nintendo has all the code for NES and SNES titles, all of the manuals and so on," Herman claims. "They have a pretty good filing cabinet and all they have to do is seek permission from the IP holder to put the game out over Virtual Console, then share the income."
Here are a couple of links to the above story from different sources
Speaking of the VC there are a couple of games I would like to see come out from the NES & SNES library and those are
NES - Where's Waldo, Who framed Roger Rabbit
SNES - Super Mario RPG, Secret of Mana, Mario Paint, Krusty's Super Fun House, Bubsy even if most people didn't like this game I thought it was great, at least better than Aero the Flying Acrobat on the SNES & of course Actraiser which I heard is coming out to the European VC so it can't be to long before we see it here in the U.S.
So leave a comment and give me an idea about what you think about this and what VC games would would like to see next.
