What does the gaming industry needs?

I saw this on todays features at GS, and I though it could make a good blog :

    http://www.gamespot.com/features/6212890/p-2.html

From what I see and think, firstly: Too bad Dunaway from Nintendo cant see the hole industry and just a glimpse of it from the solo hole in the Nintendo perspective. While its true that Sony made a mistake with PS3s high price at the early beginings we have seen this is changing step by step, Not only console companies are growing stronger but also each of the publisher, with mergings, adquisitions and other financial structures.

Whats its cleary a bad point is that we are starting to lack of some ideas and new mechanisms for games. Series are bieng so dramatically pushed that most of them are in the hill of the cicle, and as we know cicles go up and then down... 10 years ago you wouldnt even beleieve in a Resident Evil 5 for example but here it is. Industry needs that refreshing, changing of directions, and a wider view of what are gameplayers and they needs. Another good point fot his is to think that there are millions of players AROUND the world and that they dont have the same acces to videogames, hardware and software.

A good example for this is that in development countries scarcely ever use credit cards, and for that reason they cant reach the downloadable content on PSN, and XboxLive thus creating a gap between the access or acces to excesive prices for components. Think in this for example, a game costs 50-70$ when is released but that could be everything a family live with in an African in development country or South America in developemtn country. Industry needs to see through this, trying to mantain its. High quality and trying to reach all the other aspects, its difficult obviously but something must be done.

At last, gaming companies have to understand that what we really care about are GAMES, and while its true that current "fights" between companies for reaching the top of industry benefits us from very diverse points, it is also true that could create a distant view of what gamers needs.

    Mario Kart Wii data erased!

Its been a long time since my last blog, and I cant really say something has changed, still has almost no time studying for my japanese third semester test... and Im starting to feel dizzy with all the things.

Anyway the main reason of this blog is as its stated above. Last Sunday when my nephew, my uncle and I were trying to play Mario Kart Wii, I entered the game as usuaylly I do and I saw some strange "saving " message. I dont know why but I thought it was some kind of update or something... maybe used to the downloaded content on Xbox but really when I entered the game ALL my profile was erased. My records, My Time trial savings, my internet records, friend codes, and all the stuff unlocked. Everything!.... I really wont start the game agian since I played it al lot for months and now i Have that kind of hole in your chest. Wouldnt be sad for any othe save file.. but this ones had many stuff I shared and my first personal related experience with the console online gaming....

Well is not the first time I lose a save file, but really there are some things that cant be recovered what a shame, and worst I really dont know what happened all the other save file are ok.

Have you too lost your save files after long hours of playing?

EDIT: Btw Myabe I can do a recopilatory blog and get the FCs again that would be great!

Salute the new Financial Engineer +update

A long time has passed since the last blog!!!, just as many things have changed. First and most importantly, after long effort, with the university, with the tutor of my thesis, family problems and some carelessness of me and other problems. I was able to finally defend my thesis in college. It is true after all this time, that effort can achieve the goal. Cheers!.

Hence the name of the blog, the profession I studied is called "Financial Engineering· and treats itself to issues of risk in businesses, banks in general, accounting, stock market, and some international financial plus some economics. It is an interesting career and I was glad to learn it. I have completed a step and Im about to start a new one, there is still so much more to learn and I think that this is the most important step: start working, grow professionally and saving for the future. The truth beyond all this is that I would like to continue studying toward a master's perhaps, but it all depends if I can qualify for a scholarship soon.

On the other hand, I'm finishing the second semester of Japanese. A language quite interesting but so much complicated). I hope to take one semester in advance by winters holidays (summer in USA) to advance faster.

About the rest .. I finished my contract in a company and now I'm looking for a new job, hope to find soon.

About video games, well the sad news, something happened to one of the pins on my PS2 and is now deceased until It can be fixed, so no more Persona 3 and 4 .

In other side Im continuous playing my XBOX360 and now more than ever thanks to the combined efforts of my family, because I bought Full HDTV 32inch! as a gift for having defended my thesis with a score... of guess what ...................100 points and have graduated.!!!! Who said videogamers cant achieve personal goals and go toward excellency??!!!

I believe that every effort has its rewards, but often this is just an interior and spiritual reward for us to learn, be humble and keep walking, but sometimes it comes in material shapes dont you believe? .

Well here was a little bit of my life, I hope you are all well. Until next time.Thxs for reading

    with regards

    angelbles

PD: oh! and btw The FInal Fantasy Fans Union still needs some activity to come back so if you could please lend us a hand you will be very welcomed
