  life of the freeman

  i have opted to put all other games i have installed on hold, including morrowind and baldurs gate (which im still excited about playing) and have decided to focus primerily on half life 2.

  i baught the orange box about a year ago but have mysteriously put it on the shelf for reasons i cant figure out. i played through portal around the time i baught it and thought it was amazing (eagerly awating portal 2, however skeptical about what can be done to improve on the original).

  but yeah, half life 2 has shamelessly sucked me in. i started playing yesterday and by today im already up to nova prospekt. i cant help it. its too addictive for its own good. im glad that it eventually ends (unlike world of warcraft) or else my social and professional life would go down the pisser.

  i havent finished the game yet but when i do i wll write up a review for this site. im pretty happy with it though.

  speaking of reviews i might write up one or two of them now.

  its procrastination nation here in my world.

  current state of things....

  iv been using gamespot for years now to get updated information on games and researching n whatnot but it only occured to me today to become a member, so here i am!
  im currently sick at the moment so it has given me time to do nothing but stay in bed and play games on my laptop. im all about oldschool rpgs at the moment. i feel that alot of modern games are abit too ambitious for their own good, and while they provide something interesting and entertaining to offer im sure. im still a sucker for a good ol fashioned 2d scrolling game.
  
  i just beat the first fallout game. something iv been meaning to do for about 10 years but never got around to. i loved it, as soon as you manage to find the water chip and get rid of the games time limit of however many days things REALLY pick up momentum. when i get to a high enough level on this sites rating system ill probably write a review.
  
  currently im playing several games, depending on what im in the mood for at the time. these games include:
  
  morrowind - my girlfriend just got me onto this. its okay... im a world of warcraft vet... i spent 8 months on that lifesucking game, so visiting the world of morrowind after experiancing that kinda feels abit second rate. iv still found enough stuff to get into. my main motivation is i want to play this before i tuck into oblivion. im finding the artwork on character faces and the huminoids with animal heads rather silly and the combat system and clunky movement is frustrating, but ill try to beat it before i delete it.
  
  unreal tournament 2004 - for when i just wanna shoot something.
  
  the last express - iv practically finished it, just got afew more things to do, but im rather discouraged and lost interest and cant really be bothered beating it, but i will for the sake of seeing how it ends.
  
  starcraft - i played it through and beat it years ago but im revisiting this classic to refreash myself with the epic story in anticipation for the sequal.
  
  civilisation IV - im about to delete it coz im sick of playing it. i find it too easy, long winded and boring. it was fun while it lasted but now has worn off on me. i cant even be bothered with the expansions. i have too much other stuff i want to play for now. maybe ill revisit it in the future.
  
  drug lord 2 - i play this alot while surfing the net, it is my desktop game of choice. i guess it doesnt really count...
  
  i just installed alpha centauri, age of empires III and the main game im about to start playing which iv been excited about coz iv been meaning to play it for decades... baldurs gate.
  
  i have the entire baldurs gate collection. its gonna be a fun few months. this is still vergin territory for me so im looking forward to it muchly.
  
  anyway thats all i can be bothered typing for now. ill be sure to blog regurlarly, hopefully more interesting stuff. but u know how it is with the first entry... you gotta lay some groundwork! anyway till next time kids!
