  All Time Greatest Videogame Heros? I think not.

  Ladies and gentlemen I give you the all time.. greatest.. game hero...?

  Really? Gordon Freeman? Who is this guy?

  As many people who have gotten this far in the blog have probably figured out I had some serious issues with the results of many of the bracket winners and even some of the selections for the heroes themselves.

  To begin I would like to start out with the different selection of heroes. I felt that there were a good degree of different heroes in general, but seriously some of these characters do not qualify to be a hero, and others I felt were just plain unknown. I'll start with the unknowns just because they are far easier to point out. Bonk? Bo Jackson? Lester K. Chaykin? These are the top two that caught me off guard because I have no clue who they are. Among other characters I felt that they could have been replaced by much more deserving characters. Altair from Assassin's Creed would have been an accurate choice of character. Many of the Tekken characters would have also been equally qualified.

  The next thing that I would like to point out is the qualifications that many of the characters didn't meet at least in my standards. Here is a list of many of these characters: Bub & Bob, Frogger, Sack Boy, Bo Jackson, Lester K. Chaykin, and Parappa. These people are not up to the qualifications of heroes in my views of what I believe should designate a hero.

  Bub & Bob are hardly heroes the most I've ever seen them doing is popping bubbles. This is not even deserving of a hero. Sack Boy while an enjoyable character has never done anything so grand to deserve the title of hero. Bo Jackson is a football player... there is nothing significant about football in the grand scheme of saving the world. Lester... I still have no clue who you are, but I have a feeling that you were of much importance to begin with since you lost in the first round. Finally Parappa, why are you here? Putting cheese on the pizza and managing to make a song out of it does not qualify you to be a hero.

  So, some of the people who have made it this far are probably wondering what I consider to be a hero. First I will say that I would like to see the reverse of this bracket and have an All Time Greatest Videogame Villain. I feel that if this were to be done there would be very different correlations between the heroes and the villains. I believe that within the top villains we would see faces such as Sephiroth, many of the Sith from the various Star Wars games, among other infamous game characters from Gears of War series, or games like God of War.

  My ideas of a hero are far above many of the standards that were put into this bracket, I found no appeal in many of the characters and ranked them according to their accomplishments for being a hero first and from there adjusted it to where I believed public opinion would be swayed as far as new games. I have been sorely disappointed about the results for a long time and now feel that this blog has rightfully been posted and announced my claims.
