The BEST ways on how to enjoy your games more...

IF you really want to enjoy your games more, and have a much deeper and much more immersive experience, there are a few things you can do to enhance your experience:

*Study the guide and read the story. This will help you know everything there is to know about the world and game you are playing.

*Print out maps, charts, codes, walkthroughs, enemy profiles, and put them on your wall.

*Read about the subject beforehand. For example: if this is a movie game, go watch the movie first; if it's a Submarine or Flight game, go watch a show or read a book on those Subs or Aircraft.

*Get a GOOD QUALITY laser mouse and keyboard. After all this is what makes all the difference in your accuracy, and limits frustration. I also recommend a flight stick or game pad for many games.

*Join a guild and establish your character as a real person.

*Dress in costume. Many people already do this for fairs and during Halloween. And Halloween is the best time to find the costumes you need.

*Play background music that matches your game. Get a surround sound speaker system and blast your favorite songs.

*Get a Strobe light for games like Doom 3, Fear, etc.

*Use good quality headphones- they help you get more immersed in the game.

*Get a very comfortable chair- this is where you will be spending hours playing.

*Try out the Multiplayer options of all your games. Why not? You may find you like it more than single player.

Minimum system requirements on game boxes (BE CAREFUL!)

When buying a new game, never go by the minimum system requirements on the box. What I typically find is that the minimum requirements tend to run the game very jerky and subpar. Game companies do this to reach a wider audience, but once you've opened the box, you're stuck with it.

If you have Windows Vista, and you are buying an older game, Google the game name with "Vista" in the search to see of others are having problems running it.

Always go to Gamespot and see if there are patches available to download. You want to make sure you have the most error free and up to date version running. With tight release deadlines, game companies don't always have time to fix everything before they release- patches correct these issues over time.

Also remember to make sure that the game is the full version. Be careful of buying shareware demos, expansion packs that require an original version game, or even worse: a game that can only be played online for monthly fees you don't want to pay (or can't meet the Internet requirements to run properly).

Sometimes a simple reinstall or patch can fix a lot of issues, but always make sure you do your homework BEFORE buying any game. God bless.
