    Dazzled Boredom

This is probably a little late to the party , but there was nothing truly interesting going on at this years E3. It was devoid of anything truly noteworthy

Some may say that Project Natal was exciting, but there was no game behind that piece of tech, just another gimmicky way of controlling your game. Same goes for the Wii MotionPlus and that ball-and-stick thing Sony had, more gimmicky toys.

Notice that these are all controllers from console manufacturers, and not games from developers.

There is no big game for 09 (Starcraft 2 is a 50/50 right now), nothing for gamers to go and say "thats a great game."

No, this year its all recycled material, nothing new that is worth what they're asking for.

Hopefully something will swing out of the dark and surprise us with some brilliance.

    In 50 years

What will they say about what we did with our lives when they look at what we left behind? Will they think we were all blood thirsty killers when they see the games we played. Or will they think we enjoyed war and loved to see it played out over and over again. They could see us as people afraid to try something new or, people with healthy imaginations. I think about this as it appears the issue of game violence may be heading to the US Supreme court and possible restrictions may be placed on the medium. But when you think about it, very few games have tried to reach into the areas of the human experience as other art forms. So when the eventual clamp on free speech comes down on them, they will not have the ability to do what they need to do to ensure gaming's survival. It's just a feeling I have, that games will not have the chance to say anything important before they can't say anything at all.
