RFO Show....VID INSIDE!
Hello all,
As some of you knew or may not have known, I just got through playing a show with my band, Requiem For Oblivion, this past friday...it was an awesome show, there were a few bloopers from all of us but overall it was pretty solid and a lot of fun. The night gave us a lot of contacts and we now have tons of exposure..we are now set to play two gigs in January and one in march..and probably some in between if we are lucky so that is awesome..we also gave our demos to the two other bands playing (Chiselfist who are a thrash band and Save Point who are a nerd rock band) and they were really nuts about our stuff.
We also ended up getting paid which surprised me...didn't think we were going tob ut we did...made $70 which is pretty good, we put it towards the "band fund"
. But regardless it was an awesome show, played a little after 10:00PM and I didn't get home until sometime after 2:00AM. Just reminds me that I need to clean up my parts more and make them sound a lot cleaner..but I'm really happy with how my chorus pedal sounds from a distance and glad that we finally are getting some local exposure.Hereis the Youtube channel with the four uploaded songs..we did more but those are the ones up so far..the sound quality is actualy pretty good..the only thing that sucks is the dark lighting but overall I think it came out great. I am the guy in the glasses on the far right with the cream SG. I was wearing my Dethklok shirt but you couldn't really tell
.Take care everybody

Inspirational Films Really Inspire Sometimes.
So yesterday since we didn't have band practice (we had to practice on Saturday because some members were busy on Sunday) I decided to watch a movie, moreso a documentary but a film regardless. This is a film I've heard great things about and needed to see for myself..so i finally did.

Wowee was it a good documentary! I was very familiar with Anvil's music beforehand. Them, Raven and numerous others were bands I knew about since I am a die-hard metal fan. I never knew how much they struggled or how hard it was until I started watching this documentary..which is probably one of the best music-related documentaries I've ever seen. What was great about it was the fact that they are all in their 50's and never gave up on their goal thatr they set for themselves when they were 14. it amazes me to have that sort of dedication and commitment for that long and it certainly pays off. Constantly I'd doubt my ability or if I'd ever get anywhere in the music world due to frustration and lack of recognition and so on..but when you see something like this and the fact they persevered through all of those years without listening to any negativity..it's pretty amazing and it inspired me to keep going. So-called "Inspirational films" tend to do nothing for me..but I guess this one did because I am in the same position just years younger of course. As most know, I bust my fingers for hours a day trying to be a better musician and I guess as long as you never give up on it it is bound to pay off eventually but you have to really want it. This week seems to be a documentary week because I am going to watch a Mothers Of Invention documentary later today that I hope is good..Zappa is the man so I'm sure i'll enjoy it.
I will end this blog with a song from the band in question, Anvil.

60K Posts!
Wow...It is quite hard to beleive that I have been active long enough to hit such a higher number..and the more I cogitate on the matter the more I begin to realize it is both an achievement and something to be ashamed of..I should really use my time more wisely lol. Regardless, I love posting here and I am proud to have gotten this far and I have definitely been celebrating. I think the Metal Union and the Iron Maiden union (back in the days when it was actually active) helped a lot..lots of random discussions and good times
. Now I have Peach to shoot my count way up there (Got about 100 new posts thanks to her) so before I know it I'll be at 70k.Just made this blog to celebrate, I'll leave all of the other matters in my life for other blogs.
This song has little to do with my accomplishment but I love Alice In Chains, so....
