The multiple personalities of the PS3
Ever since the Playstation 3 was released back in November of 06, there has been many variations of the system. Beginning with the 20 GB all the way up to 80 Gb, Sony has spit out more SKU's than a supermarket checkout. However, has any of that actually helped the PS3? The 20 and 60 gig version started it all when it was first released. It had a few games that were "playable" but overall, it was met with a surrounding.....meh. So, Sony decided to introduce the 80 gig with more slots and backwards compatibility. The 40 gig was later released but with a few missing components, with the major issue being no backward compatibility and no card reader slots. Now that they have gotten into the console wars with Nintendo and Microsoft, they finally decided to stop making excuses and release the dual rumble controller 3, which is essentially the same controller from the PS2 except it is now wireless. The Six axis thing was....well that is another story for another time.
With the in-pending release of Metal Gear Solid 4, Sony has decided to release yet another SKU, which so happens is the one I will be purchasing. This bundle is the 80GB version and comes with a Dual shock controller, backwards capabilities, and MGS4 for 499 USD. It is weird that Sony has made so many bundles available. They recently released the GTA IV bundle with the 80 gig PS3 to Europe but decided against such a thing here in the States. Baffling to me.
There are rumors that Sony is working on a 120-160 GB PS3 system. I'm not sure why given the fact that any hard drive can work in the ps3 so there are systems that have 300-500 GB HDD in them. But then again, those are just rumors.
I wonder what SKU is next up for Sony.

Associate's Degree
So I just finished up with my Associate's Degree and there is a ceremony for it on March 30th. The degree is in CNS(Computer Networking Systems). I am proud of this accomplishment because of all the bs I have gone though to get it. Starting March 10th, I'll be starting my Bachelor's in ISS (Information Systems Security) so I am very, very excited about this. The time I have put in for this particular degree has been crazy. I am glad it is over with and now it is time to focus on this Bachelor's.....

Is Battlefield 2 finally dead?
I started playing BF2 back in late March of '06. The game was fun and exciting with tons of things to do. I ended up playing on a consistent basis for nearly 2 years. Even with the release of Battlefield 2142, I found myself playing BF2 more because I thought it was just more fun to play. It was always nice to look up at the top ten to see how the leaders where doing in terms of global score. I knew that I would never get myself up there but it was always nice to compare my stats to theirs to see how well I was doing and if I was better than them. However, nowadays, the top ten is full of exploits and hacks.
It seems that people have found a way to exploit the stats system to the point where there are numerous people with insanely high global scores. They even have a hack out where you can sign in as your name but insert someone elses PID(Player ID) while in a server and whatever you do, stat pad, stat exploit or whatever, will show up on the person's PID that was used. I see a ton of honest players stats ruined because some "person" decided that it would be fun to mess up another players stats just because they can. The sad part of this is that the folks at EA/DICE do not seem to mind considering Battlefield 2 is going on 3 years old so they do not consider it a money maker anymore. I can understand that BF2 doesn't make as much money as it did, say 2 years ago but they can at least keep the stat integrity intact for the people who still play and love the game. They will lose more customers because, apparently, this stat exploit can be done in 2142, although not as severe as BF2.
I hope they can, at the very least, fix the exploit so people can still play if they want to play it for the stat portion of the game. It would be sad to see the game die simply because of a lack of not caring anymore. That would be a shame.
