Volume 2 of Rosario + Vampire starts off with the introduction of a new character, Yukari Sendo, an eleven-year-old genius prodigy who is also a witch. She is constantly discriminated against by the other students, especially a lizrdman c l a s s representative. She also has a monster crush on Moka, and uses her magic to keep Tsukune and any other guy away from her. She even uses a voodoo doll to force Tsukune to act like a pervy jerktown towards Kurumu at one point. Yeah. Real problem. However, after the c l a s s representative comes back with some friends for round 2, both Moka and Tsukune arrive to help her. Well, actually, Moka does all the fighting and Tsukune is the only one who can remove the rosario. Arfterwards, Yukari joins the newspaper club, now crushing on both Tsukune and Moka. This is only the first chapter, or chapter 5 of the entire seies, and there's a few more stories after that, including fighting an evil Medusa teacher with an affinity for turning girls into crying statues, fending off a creepy slug monter who blackmails Kurumu into catering to his sick fetishes, and a run-in with corrupt student authorities, with the last one leading into the series first major story arc. Once again, the fights are great without being dragged out for too long like in a few mainstream series. The art is inspired, the character designs are awesome(especially Inner Moka), and the characters are quirky and endearing. However, some less admirable parts are still present. Tsukune is, unfortunately, still a wuss, and Kurumu still comes off as being kind of shameless, but once all is said and done, the series can only get better from here.

Positives - Awesome fights without being too long, awesome art, leads into a real story arc, Inner Moka.
Negatives - Tsukune and Kurumu retain characteristic flaws.
