Call of Duty World at War First Impressions (MUST READ!!!)

So as you might have heard, as being a lucky participant in last year's Call of Duty 4 multiplayer beta, I was picked as a VIP who got to test Call of Duty World at War extra super early. And continue reading because here are my first impressions. If I have to describe CoD5 in one word, it would be - AWESOME! If I had to describe it in one sentence, it would be - CoD4 in WWII. Despite the controversial return to WWII, this game is incredibly similar to CoD4. That's mainly because it uses the same exact multiplayer suite that Cod4 used. And while some might criticize it for being "too similar," I'd say, "If it aien't broke, don't fix it!" Custom cla$$es, perks, custom weapons, UAVs, and airstrikes all return, but in a more era-appropriate form. Some of the cla$$ic perks include but aren't limited to stopping power, juggernaut, and last stand return once more, although the controversial martyrdom perk is (fortunately) gone. Some of the new perks include flak jacket (less damage from explosives), monkey (climb ledges and trees [!] faster), frogman (swim [!] faster), play dead (self explanatory), crouch sprinter (again, self explanatory), and banzai (possibly meaning suicide bomb.) And even more perks are promised to come!
In terms of custom cla$$es and weapons, everything's pretty much the same as in Cod4. You still pick primary weapon, secondary weapon, three perks and a new vehicle perk! There are only two vehicle perks available right now (for tanks) which include water cooler (turrets don't overheat as fast), and greased bearings (tank gun rotates faster). All of the weapons are pretty much the same as you've seen in all the previous WWII shooters including the cla$$ic M1 Garand and Thompson SMG. Besides the American, German, and Russian weapons, the all-new Japanese weapons will also be available and new for most players since there are so few games covering the Pacific theater of WWII. No matter what team you're on, you will still be able to use your selected weapons even if they're not used by the country you're playing as. (As in you can use German weapons as the Japanese and American weapons as the Russians.)
In terms of maps, there are three great maps included in the beta. These include Castle, Roundhouse, and Nambo (beach). The Castle map is probably the best map in the beta offering lots of close quarters combat as well as long range sniper battles. The map is based around a decaying Japanese castle surrounded by blooming Cherry Blossom trees. Roundhouse is the only map offering the Russian and German teams and is the only beta map that includes vehicles. (This map is sadly limited to tanks only.) This map is also the largest and is the most sniper-friendly. It is built around a large, bombed-out train yard with a large water tower that offers an excellent vantage point for snipers. The third and final map is called Nambo. This map takes place on the beaches of a Pacific island lit only by the moon. Of the three maps, this is sadly the weakest of them mainly because it's a bit confusing to get around on and features a bunch of annoying huts (that you can go inside) but they feel more like their trying to block the action. Beyond that, there's a small jungle portion of the map to explore as well, but I'd rather see a complete deep jungle map (which I bet you anything will come in the final product.)
So to wrap this up, Call of Duty World at War looks like it's going to be a great game with great multiplayer that will be a far cry from what people have been saying. Anyways, thanks for reading this incredibly long blog! Have a great night!

PGR 4 + Quantum of Solace Demo + GOT IN THE CALL OF DUTY 5 BETA!!!
So I started playing PGR 4 last night, and upon playing it for an hour, I can say that I'm not going to buy it. It's fun to play for a few days, but it doesn't seem worth owning. Until it's at least cheper than $20. (Which is the current price.) I'll probably play it a bit more today and tonight, but then I'm gonna send it back for Splinter Cell Double Agent. In other news, I'm currently downloading the Quantum of Solace demo for the pc right now. I've heard good news from others about the demo, and I love James Bond games, so I hope it ends up being good, because I'll definitly buy it for the Xbox. And saving the best for last, I GOT INTO THE CALL OF DUTY 5 BETA!!! After signing into the Call of Duty HQ website, I got an email about a half-hour later with a beta key! When I go on later tonight I'm gonna download it and play it forever!!! Can't wait! If YOU want a beta key, sign up on the Call of Duty HQ website! You probably won't get a beta key as fast as I did though because I beta tested Call of Duty 4 which gives me a VIP status to play the beta early! Have a GREAT weekend!!- Posted Oct 11, 2008 3:25 pm PT

GOT GAMEFLY!!! (Plus More Action Movies!)
Since my grades have been really good lately, my parents said I could use Gamefly since it was better than going to Gamestop or spending $60 on a game! I only got the one game a month plan for $14.99 a month, but it is soooo worth it. I just got Project Gotham Racing 4 which is a racing game I really like but have never gotten around to buying. One of the best things about Gamefly is that you can keep the games for a really low price. PGR4 is only $20! Heck, a used copy of Grand Theft Auto IV costs $32.95! (Not that I would buy it.) But still, for a game that still sells new for $60, 50% off is a really good deal. The next game on my list is Splinter Cell Double Agent. (Which my parents let me play.) And as I promised, here is the second part of my top favorite action movies!
4. Aliens - The original Alien movie only featured one big scary alien stalking a squad of soldiers on an abandoned space station, but what happens when there are thousands of aliens? A recipe for a great movie. It is also home to one of Hollywood's greatest weapons - an assualt rife with a flamethrowed TAPED onto it. There is also an Alien game coming soon called Aliens: Colonial Marines.'
3. Predator - When of a bunch of commandos are sent in to take out of bunch of drug dealers in the jungle, something suddenly starts to pick them off one by one. But this squad is lead by Ahhhnold, so who will win? Watch it to find out!
2. Commando - If you haven't seen Star Wars and you don't plan on watching any of the movies I've mentioned here, Commando is the only one you MUST see! It is arguabley considered Arnold's most basic action movie (rescuing his kidnapped daugher) but is so much fun to watch that you can entirely forget about the story. With so many great lines and scenes, it's been recognized as a cult cla$$ic!
1. Star Wars IV - While Star Wars V is somewhat better, I can't help but say that Star Wars Episode IV is my favorite action movie and movie in general of all time! With so many memorable scenes, great characters, a funny script, and a smooth story, Star Wars cannot be beaten in any way! PERIOD!
