  Mercs 2, Spore, school, crew, new PC, and more games this year.

  I bought Mercs 2 last week and needless to say, I was disappointed. I was a big fan of the first and the second just fell short, in almost every way. It's very unpolished and the glitches and clunky control scheme make it very not-fun to play. I never been disappointed by a game before (EVER!) and I was with Mercs 2. Until they release a patch to fix some of the stuff, I don't know if I'll be able to enjoy this game. It's a shame too, considering it would be great given some more developement time (on top of the 1 year delay already).

  Anyway, I picked up Spore today. What a great change of pace from Mercs 2. Spore is a very fun and addicting game and I see myself playing it for a long time. It's a little confusing right now, but I can't wait until I reach the later stages.

  School's been good so far. This year will be really tough. This is my schedule: IB Calc, AP American Hist, AP IB Spanish, AP IB Eng, AP Psych, and finally AP IB Phys. I'm going to have tons of AP and IB tests come May. On Thursday I'm leaving for New York City to go look at colleges. I'm visiting NYU, Cooper Union, and Pratt. I want to be in some kind of marketing, preferably the graphical side, like designing ads and stuff.

  Crew has been good. Being a coxswain is great because I can still do workouts and stay fit, but there's no pressure to meet some unreachable goal of being in the Varsity boat. But seeing as how I'm a coxswain, I'm already in the Varsity boat. So I get the best of both worlds.

  My birthday is coming up: October 12. I'll be 17. For my birthday I'm taking the final steps to upgrading my PC. I'm getting a new mobo, an E7300 dual core, and 2GB of DDR2. I already have 2GB but because it's only DDR, I have to upgrade for it to work with my new mobo. I also have an HD 3850 in case anyone was wondering. My PSU recently died so I had to get a new one. I spent a lot of time yesterday fixing and intalling a new PSU.

  I'm looing forward to GeoW 2, Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, Fable 2, and Animal Crossing. I'm only going to be able to get 2 on release and I think it's going to be Far Cry 2 and Gears. The rest I'll have to get some other time. For Christmas I'm hoping to get a PS3, LBP, and Resistance 2. That'll complete my next-get collection so I'll be ready for all of the great games coming out in the future.

  Half Life 2: Episode 2 ending *Little SPOILER (at the end)*

  So, I just finished HL2: Ep2 and I must say, it has the most powerful story of any game I've played. I had goose bumps at the end and when it cut to the credits, it felt like a movie. I'm so excited for HL2: Ep3 and hell, HL3 no matter how far off it is. I was unsure about the HL series up until now.

  And now for the SPOILERS.......

  What would you do with the Borealis if you had the option? Save it or destroy it? I can't wait to get my hands on that portal technology!
