it's been a week since i registered as a member of the gamespot union. i'm still not quite sure what the level system means in regards to your online activity, but it's interesting all the same. in a week, i've been opened up to some pretty interesting games, which is great, seeing as i wanted to broaden my horror horizons. when i get more of a feel for the site, i'll probably join some group or community. hopefully, some of my reviews circulate. i've also been itching to try out some games, since my hands haven't seen a controller in quite some time.- Posted Jan 25, 2007 1:29 pm PT

ive taken a bit of a break from gaming. last week i traded in my xbox for store credit. gaming's been quite a distraction for me lately, and it's better i concentrate on my writing, seeing as i think it's going somewhere. in fact, i've got all the makings for a great novel. however, a couple of my friends just got the next gen consoles for xmas and they blow mine out of the water. my friend's got me hooked on the 360 game Condemned. its more action than horror, but still one of those games to play with the lights out and the volume up. anyway, my friend found Silent Hill 2 a while back. he wasnt really looking for it, but it was a game he'd always had and never played. it took only a minute of gameplay before we were caught up in it. that game has some of the most haunting and disturbing images of any game ive played to date. some of the background and scenery actually paralleled my interest in writing. something dark, yet beautiful. i like to write like Dali likes to paint. so the game, in a sense, reintroduced me into a short story i had been working on a while back and now im in the finishing stages of constructing the story's backbone. soon ill be able to type "chapter 1" and let the rest flow from there...- Posted Jan 18, 2007 3:25 pm PT
